Exactly. A deep metaphor for the meatgrinder of capitalism, where everybody dies....beautifully acted by super talented Korean actors....watch K-dramas and you will have a whole new world of entertainment to enjoy.

I have been watching Korean movies for years, on Viki. I am so glad more Americans are watching the stories they create. So out of the box, and creative. Jimmy having them he is so lovely

Same here! Didn't even bother with American platforms for lockdown. Just Asian TV. Love the historical K-dramas. And J-dramas. Fantastic live action versions of your fave animes. Goodbye My Princess, Chinese answer to Game of Thrones, is a masterpiece. If you can handle subtitles, the other side of the world has fantastic stuff to watch.

Well, squid game is not an original concept at all. It's quite similar to many survival anime, etc. The show was well made regardless except the episode with those VIPs. Every scene with them was horrendous.

@@moji96 True dat. Concept of Squid Game is not original. There's even a competing Japanese death-game show called Alice in Borderland on Netflix as we speak. But those Japanese locked room mystery dramas and puzzle-solving shows are too hard for my little brain. I loved Liar Game, but I never guessed anything in advance. I'm always the first to die lol

The cast is so talented and delightful! Even though 🦑 Game was dark and scary they made it so addictive. I binged it all in one day. Hope a Season 2 is coming!

My daughter had to get that pink squid games jumpsuit. Took two months to get here, in the meanwhile the country watched it and freaked out. Then the school bans the kids from playing squid games at recess and I get a notice her costume is unacceptable to wear in school. But I'm the best dad cause I got her what she wanted.

During the pandemic, poorer countries can’t get their people vaccinated. They’re contracting viruses on the streets and even dying. I saw a South Korean movie or the first time 16 or 17 years ago and started finding other ones. I noticed that South Korea was maybe the best at making movies in the world. The movies are art in themselves with very good writing and interesting characters. I nagged everyone I know to watch them but they weren't interested. Seeing where we are now is so nice! They deserve to have the whole world praise them!

That’s probably because they don’t really do it like that in Korea until it’s like almost out. I doubt the script is even finished writing. A lot of the kdramas, even wildly popular ones I’ve seen, the actors don’t know what’s gonna happen with their characters.
