Great show! I used to drag in New England. Same shit-different water! I can't believe Drew got his gear back. Grappling for that little dredge is a longshot. I don't recall him smoking before that line parted. LOL. He has a lovely family. Wish everybody safe fortunes.

Van Dijck has been in the Netherlands for many months now and has returned back to Brixham within the last couple of days. She's now wearing a beautiful fresh red coat of paint and has undergone lots of maintenanc, times have obviously improved since the filming of this, it would be nice if its still the same skipper.

Scallop fishing different in US we load em right on the deck with trip nets once the pile gets up over top of the wheel house head to the dock unload turn around do it again. Dragging for scallops very dangerous gear can catch on the bottom flip the boat in the wink of an eye game over. Best job I ever had cheers!

I do get seasick but i found a cheese sandwich and plenty of naturally brewed ginger beer helps . Ginger is fantastic for seasickness

but would you pay a mill for a boat thats falling to bits ave had boats ma self thats in that state but it annoys me that scalloper is a company owned boat and the skippers takin that boat to sea putting the mens life at risk as the boat is clearly not fit for the sea admiting himself the warps need replaced if one of them warps parts it could kill a man and thats how many lifes are lost at sea due to the owners neglegence sending boats to sea in that state its disgusting

I guess that personal insurance premiums would be prohibititively expensive ? Bit like banks and other financial institutions happy to lend you an umbrella when the sun is shining, the moment it starts to rain they want it back.😠

He should have had that hook on the boat and saved alot or hauled with 1 side for awhile . If my money wasn't stolen I would re do his boat and fish with him for a wage. More power better gear

You can't fish one side, it's ridiculously dangerous. Most boats I was on had a hook available for snagging gear, but he may have lost a load of the warp as well, so not much use without that.

The Van Dijck’s . this boat clearly had years of neclect ... look like is was about to sink and the gear was so bad and ancient . no wonder it broke 50% of the work on a boat is maintense and making sure everything works. amatuers.

I'm local to Brixham and trust me there's a lot of boats in much worse condition. The Van Dijck has had a full overhaul since this was filmed and is now one of the smartest vessels in Brixham.

it's a great show but could use better language barrier. Hearing the word f*ck is sort of a turn off for watching a show especially when kids want too watch the show.

They are just words. A rose by any other than would smell just as sweet. Your children should know there are words that you can say as an adult. That you can't as a kid. This is the real world and they will find it out at some point.

It’s because they are uneducated and have less language skills. It’s also easier than thinking of appropriate words.
