The Centennial Light in Livermore, CA is the world's longest-lasting light bulb. Made in Ohio in the late 1890s, it has burned continuously since 1901.
Newer incandescent bulbs last about 2000 hours.
Newer transformers have a shorter expected lifespan than newer transformers.
"New" does not mean "reliable."
They don't make 'em like they used to.
