second skin has always been literally my favorite chameleons tune, but i think on the beach sounds even better in this video. i'd love to hear them do intrigue in tangiers. the way that tune kicks in makes my heart skip beats.

I've seen them live twice so far and it's so much better than the albums. And better than this video even.

A pure anthem. Hard to pick a best from script of the bridge but this is genius.

It's a small shame their keyboardist isn't touring, as the second guitarist is attempting to keep the keyboard melody line and it kills the intricate interplay of the guitars. Yeah it's live, but the keyboard melody is better as a underscore not a oft too repeated melody phrase.

I know this band a couple of weeks ago the debut album is incredible so I already have all their discography, I wondered if u2 stole the sound from the camaleon, echo and the bunnymen, big country or is it my imagination

At least U2 sounds much better live than this. This is just sad.

The Chameleons were more a light cult following. Not so political. U2 probably had a different way of producing and promoting their music. I did see U2 live in 1984. The single ' Pride ' (in name of love ) was getting played on the radio stations alot. They were doing bigger tours. The Chameleons were probably struggling to get a record deal like U2. The Chameleons were still working hard on their day jobs, if they had one. U2 /Bono were selling more records because of their public demand & Managed to be in the media. The music journalists had plenty of bands to see and write about. The Chameleons were able to write at Their own pace and play to a smaller audience. I don't expect The Chameleons were really bothered about appearing on Top of the Pops! I never bought a U2 album after 1989. They had changed dramatically with their sound, becoming increasingly predictable. Pop stars and famous. The Chameleons kept to their low key Performances with a strong connection with their fans. U2/Bono, may have become a major shareholder of wealthy investors in society, but who really cares. Killing joke stayed together and wrote songs of interest about humanity. The Chameleons had been a part of the early 80's phenomenon and wisdom of youth. ☯️ Basically,
