The part of the interview you heard, and the part they cut out: “…fxxxk man, I just think..like time is more important than money….” “….uh, yeah dad, could you maybe e- transfer me a couple hundred, the thermostat housing just went on my van, and we need to eat this week…” Lovely video, wonderful sentiments, totally uplifting. Grain of salt required. 😁

I've owned a -90 bus for 17 years. It's been with me in sorrow and joy, thick and thin. I've not taken nearly as good care of it as I ought to have done, but I keep it rolling and use it regularly all year round here in snowy Sweden.

I absolutely love this! And who the hell could thumbs down this video?!?! Totally inspirational and the way I want to live. Time is more important than money. I'm ready to sell or give away everything I don't absolutely need to live a happy life. Memories and experiences, not materials and things!✌❤😁

So matches our "Westy moments". Except they don't seem to have had the scribbled notes (2 so far) under the windshield saying call "me if you decide to sell". The "I'd love to hear more about your 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, '00's, 10's van, but we've got to get to a first come-first served (Valley of Fire!)" moments with total strangers, but with a common bond - the vans"... priceless. The evil creatures who want the van experience to the point of stealing yours? Not enough bad karma, and ju-ju, to fix that. >:( V. cool to shoot "in analog"! Gotta say the ground-shredding left me with "Mother Earth doesn't like being shredded" feelings.

This kind of skeleton key mentality makes me cringe. It feels very hedonistic. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong to live any one of those scenes however. It’s just the generalisation that bothers me.

I like the video but I agree with your sentiment. Like, there isn’t ONE, singular correct way to live your life. Everyone has different values. And at the same time, everyone also has different doubts and self-consciousness. So why do people like this decide to play into someone’s self doubts by saying they’re living life wrong, y’know? That’s my only issue with the things said in this video. Me, I’m just trying a buncha shit. I’m hoping to get a VW bus soon since I work remote now, rock climb everywhere, etc. And I’ll probably live a lot of lifestyles in my time. And I’m sure they’ll all have their ups and downs. I like trying new things! I can’t pretend there’s one, singular “better” way to do life.
