Welcome to 1979, this song was huge and is still played on both classic country and classic rock radio stations. Charlie Daniels is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and if you want to watch him tear up the fiddle, watch his version of The Orange Blossom Special. Great reaction

I was lucky to have seen the Charlie Daniel's band live a number of times. He always put on an amazing show! He always ended the night with this song, but he would often go off and keep going, shredding that bow -- Great memories of some great concerts in my life.

You caught the Irish and American country music connection right away - they are VERY closely related, also, Irish fiddlers and Black fiddlers were often some of the best fiddle players in the later 1800's and into the 1900's American south, especially in the Appalachian and Smoky mountain regions.

This song was MASSIVE, back in the day. It played on country, pop, top 40 and even rock stations. I was fortunate enough to see the band live in concert, in the early 90's. Charlie actually had a fiddle paintedgold, just for this song!

Didn't know how you were gonna react.❤ But I ended up lovin' it. I'm a southerner from Tennessee. I got that southern slang and everythin'. If you want to hear some funny stuff Charlie did, listen to uneasy Rider and uneasy Rider 88. You can't say stuff like that in music or even in real life anymore! Lol! Just check it out you will love it. There's also Long haired Country Boy and he has a really good one called Saigon and South's gonna do it again. Everything he does is great you should also listen to Simple Man.❤❤❤ Great show I'm going to subscribe and stick with you❤ thank you for loving this. Charlie deserved all the love he can hit

If you want a BANANAS live performance check out ‘All Along The Watchtower’ by Dave Matthews Band in Central Park.. admittedly it is kinda long but I PROMISE it’s worth it.. 120k people in the middle of New York City on a beautiful September evening.. being there was a religious experience.. I promise you’re NOT ready.. PS.. there is a fiddle.. 🎻

Just for future references there is a difference between a fiddle and a violin. A violin uses regular strings and produces a very clear siiing noise.. while a true fiddle uses metal strings which makes a saaang noise... and Charlie Daniels was the master, may he RIP

Watch some live Zac Brown Band.. it will give you a modern live performance like this and Jimmy D Martini is the best fiddle player right now and in his band

From a musical aspects, one of my favorite songs that he’s played is “the orange blossom special” it’s an instrumental only and it’s just him sowing his talent off. It’s actual a very old song and I’ve yet to see ANYONE react to it yet. The live version is always best.

if you're really looking for great modern live bands try nightwish live at wacken 2013. start with GHOST LOVE SCORE anf do the whole concert then move on to their really good stuff. also try epica you might start with SANCTA TERRA featuring the lead singer from nightwish and a full orchestra and choir onstage. and CONSIGN TO OBLIVION live from the Zenith in paris. after that everything is breathtaking.

I saw them March 2019 at Harrah's Lake Tahoe and they tore it up. This may be blasphemous, but the Devil kicked his ass as far as fiddle playing is concerned. The difference is the Devil didn't sing.
