In quite a few of my "How-To" videos on making plaster fishing lure molds, I was using nail polish (a form of resin) to finish or seal the plaster. It works, but over a longer period of time and MANY pours, the polish wasn't standing up to the heat of the plastic. So I set out to find a better way. Low and behold, it was starting me in the face the whole time as it's what I use to secure the head portion of my A-rigs, among other things.
With that said, this video shows the entire process of making an open pour plaster mold (specific to plastisol-based fishing lures, but can be used for many items you want to mold), how to finish/seal it and pouring the heated plastisol - making a finished fishing lure.
