clothes get washed on a short cycle unless really dirty. use 1/2 the soap suggested
@rochellethundercloud3464 жыл бұрын
Another tip.use good detergent. Tide is fairly cheap,where I live,for a small bottle,it is around $3. If you buy good quality items that get the job done the first time,it saves money.clothes dont get ruined by over washing,still dirty,to boot,use way less water,soap,power to clean.same with dish soap.or trash bags

My kiddo's are all in college now, but when they were younger..I stopped buying boxed cereals. I know, I know, lol...boxed cereals are so easy during morning household rush hours lol. But I would wake up a little earlier and make pancakes, omelets, poached eggs, breakfast sandwichs, toast, oatmeal. I would make the pancake-French toast batter the night before to be ready. My kiddo's and husband would make comments on how they noticed they stayed full all the way until lunch.Not only did this save me $$, but I felt better how we all started off our days.

Therefore, I made the decision to move to a studio apartment. It'll save $200 per month on rent. And $40 per month on utility bill. It allows me to only keep what I absolutely need. There were so many good tips. I can't remember the last time my husband and I have had a car payment. We simply pay cash for them. Although, we pretend we do have a payment each month. ,So we move $400-$500 from our "bills account to our "auto" bank account so we'll hav,e cash to pay for the next car combined with the money from the sell of our pervious car. If something happens and we need to skip a month, we can..until wie are able to get back on track.No penalties.

I can cook a whole grain and lean protein with vegetables and mix it up every day or enjoy the same meal I made the night before as leftovers. It is the absolute bomb, it saves me so much money on days I find myself running late and unable to pack lunch. i just bring the ingredients and make it at work in my office. It is basically a hot pot with two stacking metal inserts where you put your food. Love love love it.

For Cell phones, use pre-paid phones and service plans, their Samsung phones cost $99.00 and service is $35.00 a month from Walmart. It is great way to manage yourself to keep cost at $35/ month., its kind of using an envelope system for cell phone cost.

We've change our lifestyle so much in the past few years. I decided I want to be debt free and takes some convincing to get my parents on board. First thing we did was cut out cable and switch cell phone company then stop eating out every weekend but cook at home and try not to shop just bc it's on sale and we grown our own herbs at home and declutteing our house during renovation really help us keep the house tidy easily and be more mindful what we want to keep amd bring in. I stop buying my family Christmas gift they don't need another useless stuff but instead I'll give cash or what they wanted. We made little changes and became debt free and we feel more freeing and won't want to go back the ways we used to be.

I'm already doing a few of these tips. I'm currently downsizing my home and I prefer to own my home. I'm on DR baby step 2, so I'm trying to stop using CC. I've thought about cutting the second car since I'm working 2 days a week from home. That has cut my gas usage and I don't need all the clothes I have. Can't cut the gym, but I've considered it. Good video Kate 👍

More great ideas! We just had breakfast for supper last night! we do that at least once a week. My grandsons favorite meals are Hens in a nest (some people call is eggs in a blanket), French toast, or cream chipped beef. If he is hungry for a breakfast meal, I will certainly make it! People think I cheat on my grocery budget, I keep my receipts, but I do not. I just have a large stock pile. For two of us, four eggs, four pieces of bread and about two tablespoonfuls of butter makes the hens in a nest, my eggs were 1.50 a dozen, so .50 for four of them, bread 10/$10, .40 for four slices, and the margarine for a three pound container 2.99, now I don't know how many tablespoonfuls is in there, but I am guessing high .20 for the margarine so our meal $1.10 total, that is not per serving that is for both of us, there is no food waste. to supplement, we don't have desert, but we use fruit cups, fresh fruit - watermelon, bananas, oranges for desert. but I only buy the fresh at the beginning of the month, since this is the end of the month later in the evening he had mandarin oranges in jello that were .50 for four of them, he ate two of them .25......so managing for two of us for $120 for the food purchases is totally doable. I also have my $20 of fun money and yes there are times I have purchased a few groceries out of it when I went wild at the store for what I thought were great purchases like .49 chicken thighs, 1.99 ground beef....things like that! oh I also use 40.00 on household stuff, this time I purchase two pillows for 9.99, detergent 1.75 a bottle and I stocked up. so being frugal comes second nature, I am retired I make about 22 a month too much with my retirement check to qualify for any kind of assistance. Oh, and I have friends who buy stuff try it and don't like it. They will often say I have some stuff I am not using, you want to try it. I am allergic to fish and seafood, so as long as it is not fish or seafood I gladly accept it and that saves my food budget.....big time! Also, I do not budget his lunch money into my grocery budget, that is 6.00 per week, about 30.00. For 1.20 a day I don't have to prepare lunches for him. I am at home since retiring so I can have whatever is in the fridge.

I live in Alaska and cost of living is very expensive. I’ve been learning a lot from your channel and just overall getting motivated. I started showering at work or the gym to save money on my water bill. Lol. It’s one of the tips I haven’t heard anyone mention on these frugal tip videos. A 20 minute shower here costs more than a dollar. So if I shower at work or the gym I can save $30 a months which pays for my gym membership and saves me an additional $15 a month.
@KateKaden4 жыл бұрын
OOOh, that showering at the gym is a great idea and sounds like that saves a lot!!! Good plan!

4:27 can be applied to high priced or physically large tools that aren't used weekly. In terms of renting a place to live there are pros and cons on both sides of that issue, I've done both and I refuse to rent or buy a condominium (glorified apartment) ever again.

Frugal Excersize is one that I like. Just get up and move. You don't have to get to a gym to do that! Also, bringing lunch... Ive been without a car since June and the quick spots around my wirk are a ways away. I've been bringing my lunch and eating at work. I can see a difference in my budget.

I LOVE that color scheme! I was SUPER on the fence for a bit. It totally depends if you use it a lot ya know? I found myself only watching the Real Housewives on Bravo! (SO MUCH DRAMA!) LOL! I gave it up and don't think about it much anymore:) But if you watch it all the time and it's a really great source of your entertainment and joy, then of course you could find somewhere else to cut. Carol what state do you live in if you don't mind me asking?

Awesome video!!! I love so many of those!!! One thing I will not be getting rid of anytime soon is phone plan or cable tv. Hubby works for cable company (does the phone side) & we do get a cheaper rate - tho I don’t watch it at all, he does. Mine is to take water wherever you go. Seriously, we take a thermos travel mug with us whenever we leave the house!!! My personal issue is that I LOVE sonic ice!!! Love making hard boiled eggs in my pressure cooker/instapot. Ice baths for the eggs afterwards. We used to get sonic ice (1-4x/month - 2 bags each time) because we would make hard boiled eggs and my ice craze would never keep enough ice for me or anyone else 😝🤷♀️ so hubby got “me” a used commercial size ice machine for my birthday a couple of years ago. Guess what we bring to every party?!!! That thing is worth its weight in gold! No joke! Lose power? We have tons of coolers & have had a fridge/etc go out on us. But no problem... we have the ice to handle it. Camping? Oh yeah!!! We’re all good!!! In fact we can fill up every cooler in our small group before we all go camping!!! Hubby won (yes, WON) a HUGE yeti(?) COOLER that we can stuff full of cold items & not have it go bad or ice melting for almost an entire week. That learn to do it yourself thing? Oh yeah!!! Hubby will usually part with something he’s no longer using to get something he does want (like a home brewer machine) & learn how to tweak things to how he wants it done. Like his 3D printer that he can make complicated things like a hotspot thingamajig (🤣🤷♀️✌️) that he can sell to others in the handheld radio crowd that he’s a part of. He’s a tech genius (& no college) but he loves teaching himself how to do things & he’s my mr fix-it! KZfaq is also an awesome resource for so so so many things!!! Getting rid of things we don’t need, whether selling it or giving it away (we donate lots of my 5 year old’s clothes to friends etc. -which is hysterical because he’s so much bigger than most of his friends- about the size of most 7/8 year olds & they tend to have a little wait before they can fit them 🤣🤣🤣)!!! But all of them are awesome tips!! Use what ya can & leave the rest! One other one though!!! Don’t upgrade unless you seriously need to. I’m still on iPhone 7? I think? & really, I’ll probably just get a refurbished one of this same phone because I love it! Don’t feel like you need to upgrade just because there’s a “better or newer one” 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Oh & phone plan... we have the one we do because during tornadoes or power/weather outages... it’s the only one that works. Too many times we payed for not having any service. Not happening again, if we don’t have to.
