And the “happily ever after”, you mean happily for about six years than everything and everyone dies. This outcome is almost hilariously bad. So much so that it wasn’t even presented as a possibility in the show. 😂

That's entirely not his reasoning for it, he was just stupid, that's all, after he heard that god wasn't supposed to do anything and just watch over the world, he thought God's existence had no meaning thus he killed himself so that he could fullfill his promise to the scientist, unbeknown to the kid, God's existence ended up being the reason life could exist in the first place, ans so everyone died because of an egotistical scientist who believed his theory was absolutely right even as the whole worls was dying, and a suicidal idiot kid who believed said scientist. Could be argued that the scientist was manipulated by the angel but that's beside the point. The ending is still dissatisfying as fuck, the best character in the show who carried the first half of the season ended up dying without his character arc being completed, and the second half of the show ended up being completely pointless after that ending, for an anime that revolved around growing to appreciate life and that suicide is bad it sure destroyed that all in a single episode.

Literally who gives a 13 year old the power of God they should have killed that stupid 13 year old with an arrow right when they entered that house
