Once you read that book and become acquainted with the true character and work of Jesus, it is impossible to settle for superficial or false versions of who He is. I watched the first two seasons of The Chosen and the Jesus they present is not the Jesus the Bible or the Desire of Ages present. That's how I was able to discern the truth from the counterfeit: by studying for myself. Instead of wasting hours watching that show like I did I encourage you to read that precious book in parallel with the Bible. You won’t be disappointed!

I’ve worked in film production since 2004, I belong to the PGA & DGA. Just because you are credited as a producer doesn’t mean you have creative rights. From my understanding, Dallas and his wife are the writers and the main creators of the show, with creative rights, and they have an evangelical scholar and Hebrew scholars that they consult with. Jenkins has stated from the onset of his show, it’s a TV show- and unfortunately most people don’t understand what a show, created for TV is. His show is created for ENTERTAINMENT. If someone is interested in learning more about the New Testament and Jesus, they’re directed to The Chosen Bible Studies which are pretty good. But the show itself is for entertainment. My issue with most of the Christians who do not watch The Chosen and those who criticize the show is, they refuse to watch the Chosen but they’ll watch other Christian or faith based films, and even secular films, and sporting events. That’s what I find disturbing. For someone who has worked in film 20 years, I do not even own a TV, and every media device in my home is restricted. It’s restricted because most people have no idea what they’re watching when they’re viewing a motion picture- or anything - including sporting events- it is designed to illicit an emotional response. Everything from the lighting, set design, colors used, the color gels that are used over lighting, and the music, all of this is to illicit an emotional response- in other words, it’s mind control. I don’t watch TV PERIOD. But it seems to me, most Christians gag at a gnat and swallow a camel. Wont watch this but they will watch that. Makes no sense. Be careful of Tv and I’d even suggest to not watch anything or at least limit what is watched and how often they watch it- don’t believe me? Then ask yourself why even celebrities don’t allow their own children to watch TV, go to concerts, or use social media??? Because those on the inside know what’s going on. Be careful of what you’re watching and listening to.

I love being educated on things about me that aren't accurate. :) This is a very compelling and thoughtful video, and these discussions are very healthy. But for the record...I've never talked about ecumenicalism (I actually don't believe I've ever even used that word in a public conversation); I did NOT say that "mormons and evangelicals love the same Jesus" (if you play the whole quote, I was talking about specific friends of mine); I don't believe being part of any religion gets you saved, and there are zero Mormons or Catholics involved in the scripts. I'm a conservative Protestant evangelical who believes in salvation by faith in Christ alone by grace alone, I'm not "religious," and contrary to the video title, The Chosen pushes for nothing other than a deeper knowledge and love of Christ and viewership of our TV show. My wife and I have also written a dozen Bible studies and devotional books connected to the show, and you'll find nothing but conservative evangelical doctrine. Other than the stuff that is said about me, I don't disagree with anything in this video, so perhaps we should try to avoid hyperbole and ensure we're speaking 100% truth about each other and the topics we all care so much about. :)

While I was watching season one I had a dream where I was being shown the guy who plays Jesus in the show and I was being told “This man is NOT Jesus!”. I interpreted that as “be careful not to set him (the actor) up as an idol”. I am thinking it also meant to be careful to base your faith on the show, GET BACK TO THE BIBLE!!!

Jesus did not tell us to keep the 10 commandments only, but instead commanded us to obey and teach even the least of the Laws and the prophets!

When the chosen first came out i watched a preview of it and i quickly pulled away from it. I just felt that it was something i didn't need to get into. I did have friends and family telling me to watch it but i didn't feel the need too. Now after watching your documentaries I i am so glad I didn't. I am a Protestant Christian. Born again by the grace of God. And yes, Dallas is definitely confused regarding everyone worshipping the same Jesus. And that Bishop is ridiculous and so is Kenneth Copeland. But regarding the show. I'm not seeing what's the big deal. It's a show about Christ. I can see the parts that align with scripture and also the things they just add because it's a show. I know the difference. And those who don't... I would think it would actually encourage them to read the scriptures for themselves. Is it wrong that I actually enjoy the show? Is it better to watch something completely unbiblical like a Marvel movie, or Star Wars?

I give kudos to several of what others found offensive. Like when in the script when he said : "I am the Law". And just recently in the last episode where he said that a woman must cover her hair is NOT in the Torah. That, is a fact! People need to not rely on a movie which mingles truth with artistic embellishments and simply read and study the "whole" Book (Bible) for themselves.

The will of God for salvation is not following the 10 commandments. Paul made it clear that the 10 commandments only made us understand how lost we are (Romans 3:20) No one can follow them perfectly which is why we need grace. The will of God for salvation is to believe in he who was sent (John 6:40). Christ, Jesus. He is our only hope. We can't do enough of following the 10 commandments. When we mess up even once we are condemned but not for those who trust in Christ, Jesus for the payment of their sin. He is our only hope and trusting on what he did on the cross is the only way we can be saved.

It's very interesting that you talk about keeping the Ten Commandments as proof of being a disciple of Christ. Many Christian Denominations talk about keeping the Commandments but overlook the fourth commandment. Are we really keeping the Commandments if we fail to keep the fourth- Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it HOLY? The book of James says that if you fail in keeping just one you have failed to keep them all. But, keeping the Commandments does not save us, it shows that we love Jesus and want to follow His word and his way.

It's remarkable that in the 'unity chapter' (John 17), which is often referred to in the context of ecumenism, Jesus is talking about keeping the Word and the truth several times. There can be no true unity without the truth. It's only the combination of love and truth that strengthens the church (Ephesians 4:15).

My only disagreement is about keeping the law (10 commandments). Christ is the end of the law to those who believe. Grace and law don’t mix. You’re either under grace and saved or under the law and doomed.

And yours are right, right! You, and your believes are right, and all others, who do not believe like you do, are wrong!!! Some stuff YOU have wrong: One, the producers of The Chosen IS NOT MORMAN, the distributors WERE Mormon affiliated, but even that link has now been severed!! Is Dallas's idea that Mormons and Christians praying to the same Jesus, wrong, YES! So he has a wrong idea concerning to whom the Mormons pray to or what they believe in! Let's admit it, that one he gets wrong. I've listened to him and he clearly does not mean the official Mormon doctrine is correct, but that some "Mormon" people/friends he has, might be praying to the same Jesus, but even if that is true, why does these friends/people then see it fit to still call themselves Mormon, as they then clearly are not. Point is Mormons pray to a false God, has a distorted idea of the Bible we Christians use and in general are NOT Christian at all! Yet remember, there is NO direct link to the script writer of The Chosen, and Mormonism. There is a link to Catholicism, in that a Catholic priest serves on the advisory commity of the script writers. However, non of the script writers are either Mormon or Catholic!!!! Catholics are not so easy, as Catholicism is mush nearer aligned with scripture, in their believe, and actually believe mostly the same as most Christians, meaning protestants, do, BUT, with some fundamental differences in their official Catholic doctrines, that I personally see as being anti-Christ! And I mean this with sincerity and love towards all Catholic members. I'm quite sure many Catholics do not even follow many of the official Catholic doctrines to the letter knowing these might be sketchy to say the least. However, one has to ask same as in the Mormon's case, why these members still then want to be associated with Catholicism at all! That said, one has to measure the actual script of The Chosen, to Catholic doctrine, or to scripture, and that said, can't find much wrong there! Second, there is very little in the script, or characters, portrayed in The Chosen, that you can unequivocally align with Mormons or Catholicism for that matter. Once you spent some time listening to the effort Dallas, and his team, put into the authenticity of the script, and how they strive to get the script as much as possible aligned with Scripture, then one can rest assured it is not that far off, and I have checked it very carefully and found very little, and mostly negligibly small things, that does not in any way skews the true message of the Gospel at all. One has to obviously understand that The Chosen is not a verbatim repeat of scripture, and that there is a great, actually majority, of the wholes series that uses the Gospels as a reference and a "base" to build a narrative of an acceptable and plausible scenario around it, in order to be able to actually tell the story in such a way that it is actually a story, and provides the viewer with a plausible background to the Gospel story. It requires some logic here, and an open mind, but not to the extend one can clearly point to scripture and say, that or that scene, is creating a distorted view of what the Gospel narrative is portraying! If you can point to a scene where there has been an unequivocal distortion, then please do tell, but I cannot find such! So what is my point really? Well, I find most all the "nay sayers" and opposors to The Chosen, absolutely ignoring the massive contributions it makes to the spreading, or at the very least, the presentation, of the gospel! These also, for some underlying sinister reason, wish to prevent the possibility that this series may make, with the spreading of the Gospel! That, parse, has an underlying evilness to itself! Thus, one have to ask, what is your motivation for these simplistic and mostly unjust attacks on an undeniably good instrument, helping to spread the Gospel in this world? Why the attacks, mostly all unfounded and very bad, if I may say so? Why do you hate if someone other than you contribute to the spreading of the Gospel? It begs the question!!

You are on the right track but it’s all the total. 1 John 3:4 says sin is transgression of the law. The word law here is Torah which is all of Gods laws, statutes, commandments, feast days and holy days.

I saw the 4 seasons. I desagree with you. I see that it helos to get interested in yeshoua and its origins. Many have started to try a relationship with Yeshoua. Trust God he has his way. The chosen is a way, espacially for youngers or those who at first watch it and are atheist. Great actors. I do not understand how Roumi can be catholic. Anyway his life is not over.

Great video thank you for a timely and good reminder of what our faith in JESUS CHRIST is truly about and indeed who JESUS truly is. Btw, do we unite with Islam which actually believes in Jesus and that Jesus will return as the Messiah ALTHOUGH they believe Jesus is simply a great prophet (like Noah, Moses, Muhammad, etc.) and never died which nullifies the truth of His death and resurrection as the Lamb of God which is central to our salvation and faith.

Matthew 7 is talking about false prophets who relied on their works. Since he who seeks to be justified by the law is debtor to the whole of it, they were judged in that they trusted, and were found workers of iniquity. It's important to remember we are not commandment keepers we are commandment breakers. All have sinned and have come short of the glory of God. If a man say he has no sin, he deceives himself and the truth is not in him. The work of God is to believe on the one whom the Father has sent. Righteousness comes by faith in the Messiah Yehoshua, his death, burial, and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), not by the working of the law. Romans 5:1-2, Philippians 3:9

Chosen is a great show and should be commended for its quality production, and in some places unique take on the life of Christ.

Many denominations yes but for salvation most important of all is to believe on Jesus that he died and rose from the dead and you will have eternal life. Acts 16:32. Once you believe you’re sealed. Ephesians 1:13

The Chosen is a historical Jewish drama, based in 1st century Israel, that is telling a plausible story abot those that followed Jesus. Even though the strongly encourage and urge viewers to read the Bible, the show is not pushing any religion.

"Jesus Christ wants a relationship, not an Acquaintanceship!" Christianity is a personal, living, breathing, individual relationship with Jesus Christ through His Word (Bible) and prayer day by day, then sharing it with others.

Unity by setting aside truth? Yeah, no thanks.

In John 10:16 Jesus said: "there will be one flock and one shepherd". This is a prophecy that He will fullfill it. The Church is one body, Christ's body, His Bride. It can't be divided. Jesus is not polygamus. In my opinion there is no sufficient humility and research of truth among us Christians. Every denomination claims to be the right one and point to the mistakes or the fake doctrines of the others. Is this putting into practice the Will of the Father? Is this the Agape Love of 1 Corinthians 13? To be honest, I think that when that Anglican Bishop said: "if you are born again, you are "catholic" then, he didn't mean to put Catholicism over Chtistianity, but only saying that you become "universal", because he had just said that catholic means universal. I also think that when Jesus said "“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven", He didn't refer to the 10 commandments - which are anyway part of His Will - but to a personal relationship with Him (Jesus), the Father and the Holy Spirit, that is possible if you are really born again and are led by the Holy Spirit. This means that instead of doing "good deeds" in Jesus's Name, you just do what the Holy Spirit tells you to do, which is the Will of the Father (and of course His Will shall never be contrary to His Word). Moreover, I think that there is much more than just the 10 commandments to put into practice Jesus's commandments. The 10 commandments are the Law; they are all right for sure, but "the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ" (John 1:17). Most of biblical truths that really unfies Christians - except Jehovah's Witnesses, who in my opinion are not Christians - are included in the "Nicene Creed" (325 - 381 AD). Consider then, that there are many passages in the New Testament that says clearly that if you believe in Jesus, you will be saved. Take for example Romans 10:9-11 or John 3:16 etc. The point is, if anything: what does "believing in Jesus" really means?" This video tells us that putting into practice the 10 commandments is enough, but who can really say "I do it"? When Jesus said "If you love Me, keep My commandments", He meant that we should live as He lived and this is possible only through a continuous, intimate relationship with Him, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, the knowledge and the application of the Word of God and a fully consecrated life, in total humility, obidience to God, holyness, purity and integrity. You will still sin, but then you will show with your lifestyle the fruit of the Holy Spirit. In conclusion, even if you fail, if you repent and believe in Him as your Saviour and confess it with your heart, you can still be saved, like the thief on the cross, because God is mercyful and good and He "desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4). By the way, I don't watch "The Chosen", but I just wanted to share my opinion about this interesting topic. Blessings

Unity is ≠ from Uniformity. This is what the so called “church fathers” came up to when different groups and ideas where around. Yes we are called to be all unite in Christ and in one Spirt. No we are not called to be one uniformed church. Also in revelation Jesus was standing in the middle of seven lampstands and each lampstand was a church. Isreal with 12 tribes was symbolised with one lampstand. But now the seven churches were simbolized with 7 different lampstands. Isreal was made of 12 different tribes under one leader and one law. Uniformity was asked but unity not required. Christianity is other way round, unity of Spirit is asked and uniformity not. If we want a single world unified church we shall all turn back to Israel and became Jews by forsaking Christ, at least is honest. But if we want to follow Christ we cannot accept a worldwide unified church.

I wish you'd done a little more research on the supposed 33,000 denominations... how they tally the number is like this, a Baptist denomination in the USA and a Baptist denomination in Africa are counted as 2 separate denominations, rather than one. Not to mention they count RC, JW, Mormons etc, they count anything as long as they make the claim to be Christian. It is a false narrative to say there are so many denominations.
