Thank you for making this video…I am a high school art teacher for 22 years now and so many things Chuck said I try to communicate to my students…plus you brought back so many great memories of going to GWAR shows in the 90’s and reminding going to school the next day proud to be stained with food coloring from being in the pit on a school night at the toads place shows they did back in the day! They were truly the best of times….

Seeing two guys cut from the same cloth from different generations is so heartwarming. I'm in the middle age wise, done my years surviving as an indy artist. So much of the path past and ahead in this. Cold studio with cured shit allover the desk. Years and heartbreak and triumphs. Beautiful

It's so good to see interviews with the "Props" side of Slave Pit Inc./GWAR. There's tons of interviews with the band out there... but seeing a real interview with Don Drakulich, Chuck Varga.... that's so awesome for us old school 80s/90s GWAR fans. Would love to see an interview with Hunter Jackson, Dave Musel, Scott Krahl, or Bob Gorman.

I love that he mentioned the art of Robert Williams . I’ve always wished that Robert would do some GWAR art . Ever since I saw his ( roberts ) art in THRASHER mag and on the old GnR Record . I always thought he would do some amazing GWAR art . That would be something to see . And of course he wound be an influence ! Amazing artist . His book is incredible .

The x-cops opened up for Gwar in houston and that show alone changed me. I have seen gwar so many times.. but that show was magic..

I enjoyed listening to Chuck, and the stories of his young times. It’s cool to hear how times where before I was born, how things were made and such. It blows my mind how they did so much before phones in an artistic view.

There were some years in the 90's when I listened to nothing but cool rock stations from New Jersey.

Holy crap I WAS JUST LISTENING to this song (Sexecutioner) in my car today and I was laughing so hard, I think I repeated it three or four times. And now it randomly shows up in my feed!

I hope someone in the recent Gwar sees this and talks to others involved about Chuck. He wants one last ride and IMO should have every right to it, he could also clearly use the extra income. A single sexecutioner tee for sale at there booth through a tour would generate some serious profits that could help with his treatments.

Bless you for doing these interviews, never enough bts info on this band. I saw Chuck rocking that mask when I accidentally wandered into The Pyramid Club in NYC, New Years Eve 1989, one of their first NYC shows ever. I can still smell the Pina Colada flavored smoke machine.

It's cool to hear about GWAR and Charlottesville, my home town. They played at a club called TRAXX all the time. Never got to see them back then because of the age limit, 18, to get into the shows

Hey AJ, I’ve bee following you for a while now. Since like 2014/2015 ish. I started watching as a Slipknot fan who was super interested in seeing someone collect all the masks because when I was younger I wanted them but had no idea where to find them besides party city (and we all know how awful those mass produced masks are). I’m not really a fan of GWAR but have a lot of respect for them and what they do. Seeing your rise over the years has been really awesome and I’m always checking out the GWAR content simply because you do a really great job covering it. Love seeing the channel grow and I hope to see more content like this in the future.

Man what I would do to get the OG, 89-91 Live From Antarctica/Scumdogs era Balsac mask. I don't know why this is my favorite of his masks. It might be the simplicity of it or how the jaws effortlessly "open and close" as he moves.. Jizmak Da Gusha's look around the same time I also like so much more. I think its the broke, "make everything you can out of trash for our stupid horror movie" in me that pulls at the heart strings when looking at early Gwar. Well its that and the fact this is how they looked when I first discovered them on the VHS mentioned above before right before "America" was released.
