I listened to this with my mom probably 6 years ago while we were drawing in the living room. We decided to draw because she finally had strength again to do something after another chemotherapy. 4 ½ years ago we played this at her funeral and it makes me cry to this day. The drawing is now hanging on the living room wall with one of the last pictures of her right next to it. Ich vermisse dich, Mama.

This song was at the very end of the movie The Theory of Everything. The combination of the beautiful melody with an emotionally powerful scene caused me to break out into ridiculous tears. I haven't cried at a movie since I was a little kid and it's all this song's fault, dammit. 10/10 would sob again.

Usually when I cry listening to a song it's because it's sad. This is the first song for which I simply cry for its beauty. There is no right adjective to describe this felling. This song is running under a downpour with your best friend, dancing alone in a big empty room, watching the sunrise in solitude, stopping on the top of a mountain and taking a deep breath, finding that person that really completes you, whether it's a brother or a friend. This song is creating something completely on your own and being proud of that invention, it's diving into the icy water after days spent in the heat, it's embracing your grandparents and friends at the end of the quarantine . This song simply makes me think of all those things that make you feel alive and in love with life. I wish everyone all these things to happen, don't lose hope, I believe in you. (Sorry if i made some mistakes, i'm italian)

It's better than the autotuned chavvy shit mumble rap that gets played every single second on the radio. People don't appreciate how much talent it takes to create music like this. Instead the "artists" that get their voice autotuned, lyrics written for them, and background music made for them are the ones who end up most popular and rich. The world is fucking backwards and it saddens me that people think listening to this is weird, when this is one of the greatest pieces of music I have ever heard :((

This is an excellent example of how music can express what words cannot. When i listen to this my heart is filled with melancholy and unbearable joy in equal measure. I think we as humans need these moments where we just forget to move, forget to think, forget to be who the world wants us to be and just allow ourselves to FEEL.

I would rather be dead than deaf. Knowing that I wouldn't be able to live with music, I would have no motivation to continue living. Last year I would have attempted suicide, I was on the very edge of a deep dark cavern of nothing, then Hammock and other beautiful music made me realize there's at least someting to live for. Music is God's creation, there's no doubt, and it saved my life from the horrifying depths of depression.

I return to this video every now and again and I always go through and read everyone’s stories they’ve shared in the comments. It wonderful to see what the power of music can do within people. This track says so much without a single lyric and it evokes such depth of emotion. I first heard this in ‘The Theory of Everything’ and I was kind of changed after hearing it. It showed me the power of a simple melody. People tend to think orchestral music is for the posh. I’m glad to see so many people in the comments who just let this wash over them.

This is one of the songs my boyfriend loves most. He used to say this is the song that he had always wanted to play in his wedding. Now we’re in a long-distance relationship at a distance of 7000 miles apart, and because of the pandemic I don’t know when we’ll meet again. However, whenever I listen to this song, I can visualize the scene we meet again no matter in the UK outside his lab or in Singapore where we fall in love. It makes me believe that we’ll make this through till the day of our reunion, with Arrival of the Birds playing. I miss u and love u so much, AW.

Every time I hear this melody, I think of a woman. She's a tall, dark beauty, and she has just set foot into a beautiful forest for the first time ever. The birds and wildlife dance around her and she takes in the serenity of the landscape. The seasons pass before her as she walks through this forest, looking up toward the starry sky. Snowflakes fall, then blossoms come forth. Soon after, leaves grow and the forest is swamped in green. Eventually, they die and the process begins again. At the end of the path she walks on, is a single bluebird. She bends down to pick it up. The dream ends.

I am very depressed and financially broke. I have had to borrow money from family and I feel ashamed each time. I suffer from anxiety disorder, for those that suffer from pain and disappointment, I feel your pain. I have suffered so much in my life. But each time I listen to the composition, I feel peaceful and free. It is like I can feel the good coming to me. To me this is like a message from God and the Angels telling me that you have to stay strong and keep going. What you want will come to you. God gave me what I needed to get where I want to be. I know that I need to stay on my path. But I have learned that there will always be obstacles that I must overcome. I suppose that is how life goes. You need to go through the bad to get to the good. But if you or I can overcome, then there is so much joy to be had. God bless all and my prayers go out for each of you.

I think my personal favorite time to listen to this song is the ripest moments of Fall, just when it is cold enough to wear sweaters and scarves and boots and hats and you start feeling like you want to drink a hot cocoa or tea. When the sky is grey against the flaming leaves turning on the trees and the ground is soaked with rain.

Bear bear, My beautiful pup. My protective, loving, admirable, precious boy. I remember being in the 5th grade. My father and I were sitting on my parents king sized bed with Bear. He was lying down, while my father and I sat down stroking his soft, beautiful, black and white fur. I was petting him steadily. My Father told me to slow down, and really pet him. He knew what Bear loved. My father looked at me, then looked back down at our precious German Shepherd, and told me words I would never forget, “Wyatt, this dog would do anything for you. He would take a bullet for you.” I never forgot those words throughout Bear Bears life. He loved my Father more than anyone in the world..it was a special bond that would never break. He protected me more times than I could count. Not a day went by where I came back from school and he wasn’t there to greet me at the gate. He died just a week after I graduated high school, underneath our tree filled with roses. He gave my family a chance to say goodbye to him. He didn’t have to wait, but he did...that’s the type of good boy he was. About a month after Bear Bear passed, my brother had bought a little guy named Loki. A white boxer, with a cute brown patch around his left eye. Still full of piss and vinegar to this day. We didn’t find out until later that the day Bear had died was the same day Loki had been born.. It seems so coincidental, but I believe there is reason to it. I really do. This song reminds me of my beautiful Bear Bear, and my amazing Loki. If you have a special good boy or good girl like I did/do, please know that you are their whole world, and to let them know you love them just as much as they love you. - WM

You are not your body, but rather you are a soul that has a body. The very fact that this music touched your soul means that it is already tattooed into those intertwining neural pathways that allow the soul to experience the physical world. Now, even if you hear this song 20 years later, it will still brighten up your eyes and make you catch your breath. Your soul is immortal and is not bound by the constraints of the physical world. You just have to find it and understand your true self. Everything you have ever experienced is already there.

At one of the first times I listened to this song, I was about 17 and I was waiting for my train at a railway station in Hungary. I couldn't believe to my own eyes, but within 10 long years, it was the very first time I witnessed a flock of sparrows landing on a fence. After 10 years of complete disappearance from Hungary, they finally arrived to my home town. It was an indescribable, magical moment. It was like a distant childhood memory reappearing and refilling my heart, a signal of hope from nature and a majestic moment of such a nuance in the world.

We are here, we connect, we breathe, we are here too And we are not alone We were never created alone And we will always be here! Feelings and emotions are meant to be deep and they crave to be felt, because they are why we are the way we are, as sad it may be that they are not being respected the way they are, but we can always find and embrace similar souls that shudder in awe and love at the thought of a human embrace or a word of kindness! We are here and we are not alone! Peace!

Every time I hear this song, wherever I am and whatever I'm doing, I will freeze. I just close my eyes and listen. Whether this song is on for a few seconds or I listen to the whole thing, I just stop. It's such a beautiful sound that for a moment I can forget about everything. To me, this song is a glimpse into the beauty of life... Gives me goosebumps every time.

This song makes me so emotionally confused, it's like every happy moment of my life mixes together with the nostalgia of the past, and I end up crying. Words can not express how much this song means to me, it has always made me cry every time I have listened. It touches the soul in ways I don't understand. Beautiful orchestration, I got chills...

Oh my lord, I've been looking for this song so much, It reminds me from the lovely time i used to have with my grandmother before she passed away. All the memory stack up when i heard this song. This song is also so good for remembering why we are here and to forgive and forget. Once again, thank you for sharing!

To me listening to this song is like a prayer. I feel connected to the divine when I'm listening. This song describes a beauty that is in some ways beyond full human comprehension. A beauty so great it demands the deepest respect merely by virtue of existing.

The love of my life shared this with me. We never should have been together- as it was not the right time and circumstances... I listen to this daily... I know she is still there- maybe someday we will be. I made my choices and she had to live on... lies and manipulations drove her away. Our feelings were more than real; they were everything. She was everything. If only I had the courage to be someone better when she needed me to be something I was not- Symphony. I’m still here...

One day I was reminiscing on how close I was to suicide, what the repercussions repercussions would've been and how it would've affected my family while listening to this song. That night I genuinely cried my eyes out full on. The next morning I was still feeling down so I put on this song again and at 00:56 immediately like fifty something birds burst out of the trees almost directly talking to me As if to say "we know, and it'll be alright. Don't worry" It was like magic I hope my story with this song makes someone else's day like the birds did mine
