Few things to note: 1. The clones that went up against general grievous are part of the 212th which is the same group that literally punched grievous in the face. You can’t say that the 212 can’t throw hands 2. This somewhat shows that grievous is still a huge threat. Even with the overwhelming amount of droids, the clones had the advantage of the narrow halls to funnel them through and might’ve even had a chance still. The sheer fact that grievous was on board made the ship already lost 3. I like how they animated even the engineers fighting back with their blasters as kenobi calls for retreat

Matthius has a point. The bad guys barely ever win in this show without the victory being phyrric. The only time I can think of when they won, even temporarily, without incurring great losses was on Felicia. Even Ohnaka's Gang took massive amounts of manpower losses. It even happened with Gregor when he was up against dozens, if not hundreds of droids and exposed tbh. I ain't hating, but having the Villain's win a genuine, 100% victory sometimes would be nice to see. The heroes in this show get too much plot armor for it to watchable sometimes. Especially during the early seasons.

Most of the times we see villains having won something, the dub is usually taken off-screen. I mean, I ain't hating, but I'd rather watch the seppies win something once like they did with the Malevolence, rather than be told of a bunch of off-screen victories.

Sidious and Dooku had to severely limit the fighting capabilities of the Separatists because of this. Letting intel get into enemy hands, sabotaging Separatist worlds, and especially sending Grievous out on witch hunts. Seriously, for how much they downgraded him from legends, Grievous remains the best Admiral/General the Separatists ever had, and that due to his versatility alone. You know what I would've wanted to see? Him leading small teams of Commando Droids, taking out Republic bases in remote regions. With his personally trained Magnaguards arriving with a small battlegroup to help take out the occasional armor. Something like a Transformers Prime treatment, where we spend maybe not half, but like a quarter of the time on the other side of the conflict. See how THEY win with terrifying ease.

Scenes like this, and several others show that Grievous is damn effective against a single jedi taskforce. People forget that whenever Grievous was being a coward, he was always against 2~3 top level jedi and basically outnumbered. On the Malevolence he was against Obiwan, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Plo Koon. On Felucia he was against Obiwan, Anakin, and Adi Galia - not to mention often being outnumbered in terms of firepower as well since, its basically 1 army vs 3.

The problem that Obi had with this battle was that despite being a tactical genius in some cases of battle, he is not a fleet commander. If anything all Jedi are only ground commanders. It's weird seeing a Jedi without his assigned admiral at his side like how Anakin always had Yularen. The clones that served as deck officers could only do so much but without a proper admiral they were doomed.

You know Grievous has a lot of problems with his characterization in clone wars just because of how he has to lose a lot but this scene I feel really showcases what a threat he is. He drops out of hyper space, curb stomps obi-wans entire fleet, beats the snot out of obi-wan, forces him to scuttle his venator, and then makes it out by the skin of his teeth. Fantastic.
