I keep seeming to forget how much I miss older formats. Prize lead, resource management, deck thinning, and board position all play major roles. At one or more points in this series, each one of them has a time where it's the most important factor in the game.

I LOVE this video. I’m new to playing the TCG and sometimes hear the V mechanic isn’t good for the format. Not knowing any comparisons, I never really understood that. Now that I see this, I can see how much more strategy is involved when there are less 3 prizers running around. ALSO, I remember watching your card sleeve / shuffling video and how you were so adamant about playing quickly. This explains everything. You are more than an entertainer. You might just be the GOAT or at least first ballot PTCG HOF. Keep it up Andrew, the community needs you!!

Against big EX decks, I go first because I want the two-turn setup to get enough Marchers in the discard. Against the mirror, I go second because you need at most 7 Marchers to KO anything and the first KO usually wins.

Its cool to learn that when evs just came out it was not the meta threat that i knew it was. It's interesting to see night march played with ex's. I remember this being so great because it was so annoying to get through 6 single prizes. Playing vespiqueen back in this era (having a similar attack) it was super foolish to have any ex attackers/ supporters. Quite interesting. I miss this format so much. While seimsetoed was so annoying and shaymin was basically essential in every deck, I have so many fond memories here

The clock is such bs in tourneys. It really needs a revision to give each player a set amount of time like how chess does it instead of a shared time limit that can be eaten up. If each player was delegated a set time limit for each game or for the match in total, you probably could have played out game 1 a bit longer to see if you could squeeze out a win.

Love this video, but I will say for anyone wondering Night March was certainly not a meme deck. From what I saw when I was at worlds that year it was the most popular deck at probably around 20-25% of the field, and I personally played against 3 of them on day one of the event.

yes, it was not a meme AT worlds, up until that point it was largely considered to be. Shaymin being released changed everything and no one realized it at Nationals. Compare the results of Nationals to the results of Worlds.

@@TrickyGym oh absolutely I agree. Shaymin was huge, but so was trainers mail for digging for compressors so it really wasn't a legitimate deck until roaring skies. Additionally, bats based decks that night March struggled with like landy and toad didn't really make a big splash at Nationals so I think people then realized the coast was somewhat clear for worlds.
@juggrrnog7786
@juggrrnog7786 2 жыл бұрын
@@TrickyGym that’s because if you remember this season bat decks like toad bats and lando bats were dominating for half the season also had trump card most of the season making night March harder to play as well. Those things shit all over night March even if they played mr mime. But by worlds enough decks had scared away bat decks and the loss of trump card limited the toad players.
