Hey guys what’s happening? Niyat here with film comics explained. As requested, today, we’ll finally be exploring The Cloverfield Paradox in more detail.
Directed by Julias Onah, written by Oren Uziel, and produced by J.J Abrams, the film ties the cloverfield universe together and hints to a multiverse of chaotic potential. Starring Daniel Brühl, David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, Aksel Hennie, Chris O'Dowd, John Ortiz, Zhang Ziyi and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, the film centres around an energy crisis about to tear the world apart.
Set in the near future, depleting resources and the threat of World War three leads the world powers to build a space station equipped with a particle accelerator. Their plan is to both find a new source of energy and unite the nations, while doing so from a safe distance.
On board the Cloverfield Station is Jason Kiel, the American commander, Ernst Schmidt, a German physicist, Monk Acosta, their Brazilian doctor, the ship’s three engineers, Gordan Mundy, Sasha Volkov, and Ling Tim, from Ireland, Russia and China, and finally Ava Hamilton, a British comms officer and the main protagonist of the film.
Although they manage to unlock the key to unlimited power, they also open up a multiverse of complications.
Through the films unravelling narrative, Julius provides the building blocks for the Cloverfield universe, piecing together an explanation for how humanity came under attack from mysterious creatures and aliens.
In this video, we’re going to explore The Cloverfield Paradox, it’s theory of a multiverse and how it ties the Cloverfield cinematic universe together.

My headcanon for this movie is that each of the characters is sent to a different genre by the accident. Prior to the accident everyone has reasonable backstories and behavior. After the accident one character is in a cartoonish comedy, one in a spy thriller, one in a alien movie, one in a kaiju movie, etc, etc.

@@filmcomicsexplained My thoughts about your saying regarding the 4 timelines at the last minutes. Here's mine: Earth 1 - yep they are saved since the monster there have been transported in Earth 3. Earth 2 - it's humans vs aliens genre. Don't know the outcome but we do need a sequel from this timeline in which humanity fighting back. The bio-mechanical spaceships aren't invulnerable since one of it was taken down by a Molotov cocktail by throwing it inside the mouth. The spaceship ignited due ingesting crop dust. Or something like that. Earth 3 - there might be hope even with the planet being overrun by monsters that have appeared due to the particle accelerator mesh-mashing the dimensions. The two astronaut that have gone back to Earth could relay their successful mission with the unlimited energy that can be used as a weapon against the monsters. It's basically like nuclear power to nuclear weapons. No idea how much devastating the energy can be. And Earth 4 - frankly no hope. 14 months have passed and the world is already in shambles. There might be some underground government that would use the transmitted info they gotten to find the means in accessing the limitless energy from the particle accelerator if they have the resources and can make it right.

I always get confused on Cloverfield Lane and how there’s an alien presence. After watching this, I’m assuming in the Lane universe a massive wave of energy pulsed from a location in space next to Earth. So what if one of the consequences with a successful particle accelerator is that it contacted the aliens unintentionally. Their hostility is because of the energy from the pulse, it probably got a lot of attention but the aliens that rely on invading and harvesting(Independence Day aliens) would immediately invade first.
@nyetloki
@nyetloki Жыл бұрын
Unless you take time travel into account then it doesn't make sense. Howard knew about the aliens for years enough to build two shelters. And it set way before paradox. And the time it would take the pulse even at light speed would be years for it to reach even the closest star systems.
@TehSovereign
@TehSovereign Жыл бұрын
@@nyetloki but as we know from Overlord, time is relative to the universe your in. So you HAVE to take time travel into account- each universe had the energy applied to it at different points. It's both fascinating and confounding the Frankenstein monster making of this trilogy, that for all the 1st movies easter eggs and thought, the rest came on as bolt on, change some background to make it a part of a franchise instead of thought out originals. The paradox no one ever explains is how anything that just appears in a space instantly would fuse with the 30 octillion particles per sq foot in just the air on earth. This drops 1/3 in space, drops more outside the solar system, but an abundance of particles still exist in intergalactic space. The energy introduced will make these particles unstable to say the least and not be able to maintain the structure of whatever object goes into this space.

I'd never recognized it before, due to the makeup and prosthetics used in the other role, but the actor who plays Volkov, Aksel Hennie, also played Tydeus in the 2014 Hercules movie with the Rock.

Oyelowo's name is pronounced "Oh-yell-OH-woe' and his is a fantastic actor. He gives an amazing performance as Martin Luther King in "Selma". He is Nigerian, born in Britain, and great at accents, as he is as the American Kiel in this film. He is also, strangely enough, a REAL Nigerian Prince, so if you find yourself near David O, ask where your 6 million dollars are (no, really, this IS true and he's great at putting up with it.) But must of all he is know to Star Wars fans as the commandind voice performances as ISB Agent/ turned Rebel, Agent Alexsandr Kallus. Just a great actor, always.

Honestly think cloverfield could of been something special if it was A: alittle quicker to make connected movies and B: painted a clearer picture as to what’s going on. I feel like most general movie goers just think its a big monster movie and get confused/disappointed when its not

I think when they fired off all that energy they created a bubble around a certain area in all four universes. And everything shifted ever so slightly causing all the chaos. The big monster was probably with the little one and got split up into two different universes.
