I was impressed with Essendon in the Anzac day clash. There was a period when the Pies piled on the pressure and Essendon got fumbly but they managed to pull it together and ramp up their own pressure to stay in it after that. They look to have backed that up with their win over GWS who also got hold of them early.

What impressed me with the Anzac Day game is that exactly what happened last week with port vs Collingwood was about to happen again but Essendon kept fighting and didn’t give up, they’re a genuinely competitive team

@@Jameschristou93the rankings aren’t a stat. The rankings are a subjective opinion based on choosing which stats they view as important and which ones less so. It’s valuing certain stats over other stats. It’a not just a recounting of data - it’s an opinion.

Don't discount the psychological aspect of the game, so Bombers have generally gone in as the underdog, so subconsciously the other team think they'll win, now we will go into more games af favs, so the other team will absolutely bring their A game.

Pies have made more changes than you would think in Murphy's absence Cameron pushing back more and being able to because we force opposition to attack slower than we did last year is part of it

We’ve also lacked that second tall forward with McStay out until finals (if we make it). If we had him against the Saints & Swans if would of been a lot closer. To top it off we now have Miochek, Elliot, Howe, McReery, De Goey & Mitchell all out

Stellar form? He’s averaging career worst stats at 68% efficiency man. He has been pretty bloody ordinary if I’m being honest. In saying that he has gotten better defensively but he’s still a butcher of the pill

Sydney has been helped MASSIVELY by their academy and extra $$$. Geelong is helped MASSIVELY by the lifestyle they can sell plus 1-2 of the best players in the league being born around the corner. Both have found their advantage and both exploit it.

He should go. No guarantee North will ever turn it around. A player like Judd McVee from the 2022 draft might have already played in more wins than Sheezel and Wardlaw will in 300 games for North. We have never before had a side so bad they could get 8 goals start every game and still miss the finals. And if they do eventually turn it around, Zurhaar might be the next Nathan Jones and not get a gig in the big dance.

@@danielmaher7558 9 rounds is not deep enough into the season draw Universal supremacy judgements. It was only a couple of weeks ago that the Cats were unbeaten and on top of the ladder with 6 wins. Teams like Carlton have had the hardest draw in the opening 9 rounds and are 6/3 with a slightly easier run home. Swans are looking okay so far but their systems are elite and are always a chance. It's a week to week litmus test for every team in a very even competition. I can think of 5 teams that would clean up the Swans in the finals if they were held next week. The Swans are NOT miles ahead of the competition. Sometimes the two best teams don't make it to the Grand Final. In 2022 the Swans were embarrassed by the Cats in a one-sided circus show. I suppose the corporately run sporting media needs a headline each week and transient sensationalism is what they do best. (were you paying attention during the Pandemic? Did you see what happened?)

Sydney Sooks will never be the best team unless and until they stand up on the biggest stage. They've been over-hyped so many times before only to be exposed in GFs as not tough enough. Heeney (as was Hanners) is totally overrated and soft as butter in GFs. When Heeney stands up in a GF, then i'll revisit this opinion. Until then, i am done listening to this media-spin BS!

@@Maxindifference Pies. You know the team that won the flag last year? The one that smacked port by 40+ whilst being down 30 at one stage. Port and Crows are utterly embarrassing. Yeah Port had a good win on the weekend but that’s only because Geelong were asleep until half time. They nearly choked another 50 point lead in a space of 2 quarters
