The CODA Story: Two Deaf Kids Raised by Two CODA Mothers [Child of Deaf Adults]

Күн бұрынBoth mothers are Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), which means both mothers are hearing, yet they have Deaf parents. CODAs and their families often experience the same challenges as those with deaf members. However, both Coda mothers wanted to have a kid, so they agreed on an unknown donor. They had the first child born Deaf, and then they had the second kid who was also Deaf!
It’s very rare for two hearing mothers to conceive a deaf child. They kind of hit the lottery! ;)
So mothers wanted to understand how did they have both Deaf kids, so they took a blood test. They learned it was connexin-26. Connexin 26 mutations are the most common cause of congenital sensorineural hearing losses.

Can mom fix Traxxas RC cars whenever their boys break it? LOL our boys break their rc cars all the times and I fix it for them same time teaching them. I also teaching boys how to fix anything with cars, electrical, and etc Fact is fact. So children will never have experiences with dad’s hobbies.

There are plenty of families without fathers, plenty without mothers too. They get along just fine. In fact, studies suggest that children raised by two women fair better mentally than children raised by a man and a woman or two men. Go figure.

the kids appear to be in good care and have a home there are plenty of kids who do not have parents or are in abusive or neglectful households i think there’s bigger problems for a kid than having two moms
