Excellent explanation by Dr. Daechsel, I'm glad he emphasized even from the beginning how the International Aid scheme makes some westeners feel a sense of superiority towards the peoples of the Global South, thinking they are the ones who help to lift the rest of the world out of poverty. International Aid is also used by the West to create a relation of dependence between the rich countries and the poor ones: once the aid is being cut off, the certain country can't sustain itself and so, the rich country can easily meddle in any poor country's internal affairs for their interest in exchange for some financial support. For this scheme to work, the rich rely on the corruption and mismanagement of the local authorities of the underdeveloped country.
