This is a pretty good Spy Thriller centered around a Chess Game set at the same time as the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. Bill Pullman is usually great whenever he plays these quirky characters, and there are enough twists in the movie to keep the audience on edge.

This movie is interesting. Although it does portrait Russia as the bad guys, it is still about the past and outdated technology from 50 years ago. But the reality of modern days, makes it unclear who the bad guy is anymore. 1. Russia says USA decided to retreat from the INF treaty and that Russia is not to blame for it and that Russia did not break any agreements. Which is a straight out lie from Russia, because they showed off their new missile range capabilities that can circle the globe, undetected, several times over. How is that not breaking the agreement? But they had to do it, because USA keeps on underestimating Russia and not giving it an inch of respect. 2. USA did not break the agreement, that we know of. But they did not choose to renew it either. And then Putin said that there would be no breaks for the race of nuclear capabilities, if USA doesn't renew the agreement. But what breaks? The official breaks? Because, unofficially, both countries will always have a race for the newest and best technological advancements. Will USA also just sit back and not improve their weapons? Sure, that would be the day! So, in reality, chances are that USA have already broken this agreement. They just chose not to brag about it in the open, like Russia did. Because they don't need the respect from Russia and the west. USA are just as much of a liar and a traitor to the world as they see their enemies are. They just don't like looking in the mirror and admit it to themselves. Because no one else does, so why should they, right? But that's the point, that they should be better than everyone else. But in reality they are just like everyone else. But in this case, they don't really have a choice. Because, technology advancements can't be stopped. So the INF agreement was only a temporary solution.

Little piece of history here: The cuban missile crisis was a response to USA's illegal aggression on USSR and Cuba. The Americans had put mid-range Jupiter missiles in Turkey and Italy, able to hit Moscow and USSR responded by putting missiles in Cuba. Cubans feared another illegal invasion by USA after their failed attempt at Bay of Pigs so they accepted to host Soviet missiles on Cuban soil. In the end US folded to pressure and was humiliated. They removed all missiles from Turkey and Italy and US publicly declared they wouldn't try to invade Cuba again. There. I saved you two fucking hours propaganda.

First of all, we watch movies because we like them, not for history lessons, even if the exact thread of events cannot be accurately played in a single movie, and skepticism will always be there, because it is impossible to know everything. Going over that the movie is pretty good both the plot and the actors have a harmony that gives a realistic color to the events of that time, although some may interpret it subjectively according to their own beliefs, but that does not matter as long as you try to understand the ideas in the back of this movie and to convey it to our times. I suggest this movie, even if people like to come with all kinds of labels for such a good movies. By the way good movies are usually not appreciated, lots of people don't generally know what is good and this has been confirmed by history but also by the society we see as it is without culture and reasoning.
