Polt did not win the tournament, he lost to Nerchio in the semifinals. ShoWTimE won in the finals.

Excellent episode! If I had to pick another great comeback for a whole series, I'd say Lilbow vs Hydra in WCS 2015 finals was also absolutely wild :). And for a single match comeback I don't know if it's the best, but my favorite and certainly most suspenseful was SOS vs Life game 7 at Blizzcon 2015.

It was but only players could see it. The casters had a different game overlay that didn't show it

I don't get it, if it was a tied how does Polt win? Some tie break rule or something?

When the tie happened, Polt had literally 0% chances to win because he had a much worse army and he couldn't fly away with his building. But due to how draw conditions are applied (it's described in the video), Strange didn't have enough time to finish him off. According to the rules, no matter in which positions the players were when the tie happened, a game had to be replayed - which what happened and Polt eventually won that one on the same map. Strange was morally crushed because he was 1 inch away from victory in that draw scenario but just lacked a couple of seconds.

Dumb mechanic but a fair tie. Terran buildings shouldn't be allowed to hide in corners indefinitely.

I do feel like Polt's victory was undeserved. However, it was an incredible series nonetheless. It sucks for strange, who knows how far he would have gone with this victory under his belt?

I wouldn't blame the player for the action, he was doing just whatever he could to not lose via terran mechanics. The same goes for strange, he was trying to survive and win as well. Could he have done things differently if he knew about the timer? Yes, same goes for polt.

@@tsundude4320 He knew about it, the timer for draw is visable if you play, but was not shown in the castee overlay at this time.
