When the earth shook in Kathmandu and the surrounding area in 2015, many people lost their lives and large parts of the infrastructure were destroyed. The Yangri-Valley was and is particularly affected. There, Himalayanlife is committed in the long term to open up new perspectives for the inhabitants of the valley. The centerpiece is a school - the Yangri Academic Center - which gives the children of Yangri and the surrounding mountain villages access to schooling.
