I am not very religious. However tragedy did strike my family 3 times in a little bit over a year now. When I say tragedy, I mean it in the literal sense of the word. I have tried to make sense of the last one of these tragic events, but I could not. It was too overwhelming. I found a little bit of refuge in the little religious beliefs I held. The problem is that I am too rational to be truly religious. Then I discovered John Butler. He is wise beyond anything I have ever experienced. He seems to have reached a point where he is at peace with the entire universe. Listening to John is an absolute delight. He makes even the darkest days a little bit brighter. Even someone like myself can find peace by simply listening to him. I wish someone that is dear to my heart could listen to him. However that person can't. Not because she cannot hear. No, simply because she is in a place where they don't allow computers or radios or TVs or phones to be used. I will try to send her a letter and share with her some of the wisdom John.

I used to study martial arts. When I did kata, I felt like I was disconnected from everyone in the room yet I was aware of what was going on around me. If I got to class early and I was the only person in the room then I could just be in each moment because I didn't have to be aware of anyone. Once I finished the kata then I could hear people and the sounds of the room. Sometimes it felt like a dream and I felt rested.

"can you learn that from a book?" .... and i opened up this man opened my feelings up so much, i couldn't stop the tears how could i have forgotten about the very basics??? i have missed so much, while it's life itself that i missed!! i used "common sense" enough times in arguments and discussions, so why did i forget about the very first steps of it?? i started to notice that i got some of the feeling back i had as a kid, before i got into an accident, but this one video is my basics from here on once again will i become myself, and no longer lose the basics of "common sense" this man isn't just talking about religion, he's talking about life's very first steps i'm not religious, but i DO admit i forgot about common sense that everyone should always have with them, for such long time my dream always has been to create videogames, and when i got the feeling back how i thought as a kid, i knew that someday and somehow i could be like i used to be, to get there, eventually but this man has brought me all the way back to my roots, instead of just that small feeling thank you, dear sir, this pulled me out of a dark place i hid in, just to avoid pain i will continue sitting in that dark place, but no longer hide in it i'm an introvert, a person who's not very good with communities and such, as i want to be myself, and not "one of them", but with this one lesson, i can actually BE myself, once again i'll put this video in my favorites, so i can look back when i need to, to keep my head up i don't want to lose myself in that dark corner, i want to keep being me, and see myself this video woke me up, but more than anything else ever did thank you once again!

@Kurachi84
@Kurachi84 4 жыл бұрын
@@donereasoning6134 I doubt i get that far, but making fan made games for fun (as it's a hobby) may eventually happen. It's just that i'm still stuck with my parents now, and my father suffering from Emphysema and dementia, makes life and time very limited. Once i have my own place and.... well, by then my father won't be around anymore, i'm afraid, i will first get a lot of mental rest (not going into detail what i had last 6+ years), and then play some games myself, which eventually give me ideas and inspiration, as i'm a "i wish the game had" kinda guy, which made me wanna create games as a kid, already, and once i'm mentally rested and have been into life some more again (feeling down for years makes one feeling numb), i'll be busy with everything i need. I doubt it takes years, once i live by myself, to start learning more than i know now, which are some small details, but when the time comes, i'll be doing that, and when i'm far enough, i'll create games i already somewhat have on paper (txt files, haha). But getting my own place will take years, as there are more and more people on the planet, and every year many people need their own place, too, so i might have to wait for more than 4 years now, and already on the list (is how it works where i live) on houses for 1 year.... so yeah, it'll take a lot of time now, plus stress due to my weakening father.

Clearly you've never heard of quabtum / astro physicists.. Mathematicians.. Quantum chemists etc.. America has conscious philosophy on a more scientific rather than spiritual perspective... We dwell deeper on concepts due to the information available to us... For example.. As he speaks about calming the mind in meditation and lays out a course pertaining to the purpose and causality of such practices.. The astro physicist and quantum physicist notice the same reactions to such habits.. But don't stop at describing the process as an exchange of "spiritual radiation".. Rather.. They see it as a fluctuation of electromagnetic wave length.. And apply that knowledge to how conscious electromafnetic wave length interfaces with the quantum physical world around them.. And instead of just explaining what is happening.. They also explain WHY its happening and HOW its happening... Not implying that John is intellectually insufficient for IQ is based upon perspective.. But that is the differentiating factor in habitual philosophy in contrast of our cultures. It is common for people to be oblivious to this truth due to the fact traditional American philosophy confuses the average mind to begin with.

Precious teachings of one of the few really enlightened people of today´s world. Every word of him comes out of his PROFOUND KNOWLEDGE OF THE DIVINE. He hasn´t only read about it, he isn´t only believing what he read about it, only repeating what other people say about the divine. He isn´t believing in some image he constructed of the divine - no, John Butler HAS BEEN ONE WITH THE DIVNE as Jesus said: "I and the Father are one". That makes John Butler´s words and his instructions for meditation so precious. I am so grateful that the Holy Spirit has led me here.

I never realized the stillness and spaciousness was the real reason I loved those places so much. After all, dont fence me in..... that is how I have always felt. I was genuinely surprised by John's 'common sense' Glenn. I thought the "feet on the ground, bum on seat, hands on lap" was just preparation for the 'real stuff' of meditation. For John it is the real stuff. "When you are paying attention to your senses you are not thinking, are you?" Phil
@glennjudge1
@glennjudge1 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Phil. Yes the elusive ‘real stuff’ of meditation. Our mind is always looking for more, or a goal or a purpose for practice. I always go back to the psalm ‘be still and know I Am...John’s common sense approach takes you into that Stillness. As stillness there is no next, goal or purpose there’s just Being. What is missing or lacking then? Great interview Phil your the man at framing profound yet assessable questions.
