It's crazy how far technology has come. The fact that you can get a portable device that's more powerful than a PS4, than plug in an external GPU and now you're competing with many people's gaming PC's is literally my dream. This renders my own personal desktop irrelevant.

I remember years ago when there was the dream that Razer's Project Christine would come to fruition. This is almost there, maybe not as elegant of a dreamed up solution, but damn if it ain't impressive.

I like how a portable eGPU can make a lightweight laptop compete with gaming laptops, i appreciate being able to spare the extra weight when i don't need to game outside.

are both hooked up to an eGPU via oculink or thunderbolt? Maybe specify these things because if the 3070 is using thunderbolt and the 7600M XT is using oculink, these comparison can be misleading.

Hi ! With a gpd win max 2 6800u, is it possible to do VR ? (with virtual desktop) have we problem with usb 4 bandwidth ? Currently I am playing msfs2020 on my gpd win max 2 6800u in intermediate setting and it is beautiful. I would like to switch to VR (which works very well with an rtx 3070)

Bottleneck probably comes from connection type. Oculink is better than usb4 by a lot

Nice comparison. My own tests with a GPD G1 and an RX 3070 (in a razor core x box) put the GPD G1 just behind it. Though I was testing at 1440p. I will say though that I can play AAA games at between 40 to 60fps with the GPD G1 via Thunderbolt (I don't have oculink), and I love the little box (using laptop with 12500H cpu and TB4)

@@gpdgameconsole From what I've gathered on the GPD DIscord from other users trying to install Windows 10, it's a BIOS issue. because the current version of the GPD Win Max 2 (which I owned from the crowdfunding campaing) has a BIOS that (apparently) is not built to support the sleep states built into Windows 10. Windows 11 has different sleep states. So even though it can run Windows 10, every time it goes to sleep, the GPD Win max 2 will never wake up. You have to force shut down with the power button and totally power cycle the device to get it to start again. There is no fix for this except to use Windows 11, which I do not like because Windows 11 is missing certain UI customization features available in Windows 10. And Windows 11 has way more telemetry.
