Fox is a *shining* example of what a good character should be.

I would argue that, while Fox dominates, Captain Falcon is more iconic to smash. Everything about him, his voice, his moves (Falcon Punch, Kick, THE KNEE) all were made up by Sakurai. He’s arguably the most hype character to watch people play in tournaments, and he doesn’t even have a franchise anymore. Captain Falcon is the most iconic Smash Character.

Fox aka shine boi. Fox has always been one of my favorite characters and even though Nintendo no longer exactly "cares" for star fox as a game he will be immortal if Nintendo still keeps making smash bros games.

I feel I should point out that, in Melee, m2k and Armada remarked Puff as being above Fox earlier than Hungrybox's reign, which people used to mock them over. These days, people take these comments a little more seriously.

Loved fox in 64, picked falco early on but he just felt too slow so I switched to fox in 04 It was a revelation when I downloaded videos of top fox players and saw shines, edge hogging, up throws. I won a tournament that year thanks to ripping off wavedashes. I'm not good, I met a guy over 10 years later who was into Melee, I beat him maybe once. He's really fun to play against, but gets bored before I do. Ill play melee all day given the chance, but I haven't owned a Nintendo console since 2011

Falcon is the most iconic Smash character but Fox is up there.

Melee fox can only chaingrab himself and Falco, the only other character he has grab follow ups on throw with is captain falcon but it depends on DI and %. I would not say he chain grabs “a lot” of characters.

Falcon is smash for a lot of people in the same way fox is, so those two be most iconic despite my love for Falco

who is more iconic? CAPTAIN FALCON in his home series you dont really see falcon like every minute of the game because hes in a car but thats not the reason hes not very well known from his series his series is really old and f-zero never really took off into orbit but falcon was lucky to get into smash hes now really well known in his smash appearance and f-zero (because of before mentioned reasons) wasnt the game that captain falcon got his popularity from and with a falcon punch and a knee he opened a hole inside our hearts captain falcon also has flahy moves and combos that are fun to watch and perform, moves like falcon punch and kick that the smash team came up with and grab combos while nerfed in ultimate still really fun and thats why i say captain falcon is the true icon of smash

64: Very good character but why would you pick him over Pikachu, Kirby, or Captain Falcon? Melee: Technically the best character but some argue Puff is better and human error severally hurts the character. Still top 2 in the game tho Brawl: Basically only Japan has good Foxes so you're better off maining Meta Knight or IC's 4: Top 10 in the game, potentially top 5 Ultimate: Started off great but slowly dropped a little. A very good character but you're probably better off learning Wolf or the new buffed Falco. Fox is still a good character tho
