Dear Dr. I came here because I really wanted to share how excellent your book is about boundaries. I recently had to cut contact with a friend who walked all over my boundaries in every way possible. Although our friendship started in a way that I thought I found a soulmate of a friend, later I was disrespected, dismissed, invalidated, gaslighted, stonewalled, and many more terrible things. I am not a professional, but my ex-friend seemed like a covert narcissist, and to the tea. This relationship left me so confused and fragile. I was broken down. I didn't feel like I had an identity left. I knew I always have been a people pleaser and had a hard time setting boundaries. My parents taught me to always be nice to everyone and to the point where I should put myself back. This seems like a great concept but now it just feels like weak boundaries. But I never in my wildest dreams would have guessed that I would be included in an abusive relationship. However, I am pretty confident that my friend had her own issues and that I saw a face that was very sweet in the beginning and I held onto that so it is not necessarily just my fault...but I do know that my gut was telling me and screaming at me many many times that I shouldn't feel safe around this person. I was scared of the rage and the aggressiveness. And I didn't realize how much damage I was taking on by just giving in constantly. So getting out of this, I realized I have major work to do and your book just checked all the boxes. So I wanted to thank you for writing this book. I am amazed at how well done it is and I can feel that this is exactly what I needed to not have another person walk all over me again. Being aware of the problem is the first big step, and your book seems like a great tool to learn this skill slowly so I can protect myself better.

I have a friend that has a spouse that has very little boundaries w/his kids and the kids (young adults) are allowed to act and be disrespectful to her and he doesn't protect her or stand up, she has stood up and it doesn't turn out well how does one set boundaries for the self if the spouse allows inappropriate aggressive behavior? Id really like to share some of your tips
