The Controversial Side Of Demi Lovato
There are many people out there who really don’t like Demi Lovato. Demi has talent, beauty, and fame, but somehow all of that has been overlooked, and now the first thing that comes to mind after listening to their name is just drama and memes.
From starting fights with every celebrity they run into, to almost destroying a small business over froyo, Demi always manages to be the center of attention. So let’s take a look at all the controversies that have turned Demi into what some people consider a very dislikable person.

There was also that incident where Demi put a fan on blast for drawing a fanart of them as a mermaid because the drawing "made their body unrealistic" 🙄 I felt so bad for the artist because the drawing was beautiful. Also how they feel the need to CONSTANTLY attack Taylor Swift over every little thing, like how they bashed Taylor over privately donating money to her friend, Kesha's, legal case against Dr. Luke and going on to say that they grew up without much money and Taylor should have tweeted out her support or whatever. It was hypocritical because Demi ended up charging $1000 for their fans to meet them backstage from one of their concert tours. It is honestly a shame that Demi has such a history of being attention-seeking because it helps undermine them coming out as non-binary, and non-binary people already struggle with representation and are often mocked for their identity.

I feel like you have a point, I think Demi hides behind their mental struggles to use as an excuse and to be the center of attention. Don't get me wrong, I struggle with mental health myself and it sucks. But I just don't think it should be all they talk about.. It isn't a personality trait. I do understand where they come from and it's a good cause, but there's a line where you are helping and when you are using it for attention. (I have to add, I'm not in anyway invalidating their mental health struggles, I just feel there is better outlets)

I think that while it is positive/helpful to hear a recovery ED story. It can be equally argued that in order to speak about ED you should understand your own triggers and be in a good mental state in order not to trigger yourself. This is something I think Demi has a huge problem with. Instead of choosing to grow and move forward they sits in the “I suffered from ED and here is my story” over and over and over and over. It really is unfortunate because sometimes showing growth is better then just telling the same story

Not only that, but what about the individuals who struggle with cholesterol issues? Sugar is a huge no, no for those folk too. She’s so sensitive, she can’t help but live in her own bubble. Sad, and frustrating to watch. Guilt and sugar isn’t just tied to weight or body image- it can be associated with heavy health ramifications too.

Alright? I've ALWAYS *loved* Demi so much, since I was like 14 (currently almost 24) I just absolutely fell in love with her voice, & watched all the shows she was in......Camp Rock (the 1st one, not Camp Rock 2) was & still is one of my all time favorite Disney movies, next to all of the Halloween Town movies of course. I loved a *lot* of her music, most of it being her old music from when she was still on Disney Channel....but some of her actions throughout the past couple years have been, well, questionable...such as the froyo situation. I really couldn't believe/understand how upset she got about that whole thing...I understand having an ED, but that specific frozen yogurt shop was clearly just offering options to people who literally *can't* have regular froyo, but still like it. Such as the ice cream with no dairy that some companies make now. They weren't trying to offend anyone, in fact they were trying to do the exact opposite....I'm still & will always be unsure why Demi was *so* confused & offended about that whole thing. I still like her, just....less.

Demi is the type of person who is so toxic that it causes problems with literally every single person they meet and then they turn around and claim everyone in the whole universe is toxic except them. Demi is just an innocent victim in all this in her eyes. And that's what bothers me the most. Demi truly believes she's the good guy in all of these stories and anyone who disagrees only disagrees with them because of their body type. So they will never take any criticism, they will never learn from their mistakes, they will never take responsibility for their actions, and they will continue to believe they are a good person while actually being a bad person.

I think that they (demi) have hidden borderline personality symptoms (I study psychology and I realized that some of borderline's symptoms are connected to the way they react to certain things, from what we can see from the public eye. Of course I can be wrong! ). I respect their pronouns and their gayness, but I found this "truth" really rushed, as if they are trying to find something to satisfy themselves. I believe that they are easily influenced by other people and that need to find mental stability, even if they seem to be happy. Their traumas haven't been treated in the right way; I noticed this when they broke up with max. They (indirectly of course, because Demi, honestly, didn't accuse him directly) made look him like the only one to be blamed. After few months, they were stating that they prefer women to men (so, I suppose they were confused during the relationship and after the split up. It's kind their fault too).

I hate that Demi uses their mental struggles and body struggles as an excuse for them to act the way they do. It is Demi's responsibility to work on and avoid the things that trigger them. It is Demi's responsibility to take care of their mental health and it is their responsibility to understand that they have a fanbase that is filled with young kids who probably don't have a full grasp on what the things are that Demi struggled with. Not only is Demi an adult but they are also making it seem okay to use your mental struggles as an excuse to make the mistakes they have made okay. I used to be a fan of her. Not only for their music but for the way they openly talked about their mental and body struggles. But right now I feel like they've lost my respect and support when all it seems they've been doing is putting themselves in situations they should not have been in, in the first place. It's not that hard to keep your nose out of another person's business, but apparently, for Demi it is.

Honestly up until 2020 i had like Demi but now they/them are acting like all these other celebs playing victim always offending people and while being a person many look up to about love addiction sexuality and mental health and body . .... They plays victim a lot and acts like a narcissistic person on why you should feel bad for her, like yeah you went through stuff but also i think when people haven't lea ned to live themselves or truly let themselves heal , they jump into stuff way too soon. Dating being engaged having kids there's always something, fighting people and having all these allegations How can you can compare something like that I loved the Zendaya doll it was gorgeous i have one for Brandy. Wow so he's use a person of color got a doll they are mad nobody made a plus size doll um they do have them. Demi has a eating disorder yet body shamed other celebs, i feel they have their own reason as to their friendships and relationship don't work. It's like they love to be in the spotlight. They/Them giving me Amber Heard which is not good, being apart of the problem I understand feeling offended but they didn't even try to see what they had and even so it's a small business. They made a big deal out of nothing and it wasn't fair. I get it they can speak on how they feels but please stop making Protect LGBT community Protect POC Protect people with ED As a They/Them non binary person it is offensive to not call people by their pronouns like i get you might not understand or like it but please be respectful. Like girl did you ever think some people (like Bella and Z) are just naturally thin? Or God forbid people actually exercising and working hard to be healthy… anyone can be any size, it doesn’t always suit them or is healthy for them but it’s possible lol I just personally think she’s mad that she’s not the size 4 she wants be honestly

It's amazing how someone can be so musically skilled and so dislikable simultaneously.

Who cares if they/them has good songs, when they/them personality is disgusting. They/them said that being a celebrity is exhausting sometimes, well I am exhausted of they/them personality. P.S - They/them since they/them told the internet (Demi) that they/them uses the pronoun they and them.

Theyre problematic and there fore i dont stream their music, i dont follow them on ig and i dont buy their "merch" but i also dont waste my time shoving this down other peoples throats like it matters! So we dont like them? Lets move forward as adults🌞☺

The they/them term will be beaten to death. Its actually a valid form of the English language. Geoffrey Chaucer, Edgar Allen Poe, and William Shakespeare used the pronouns when referring to someone they were speaking of without the knowledge of that person's gender. Its not wrong. Honestly just say someone's name. 🤷

I suffer with Bipolar Disorder and I have compassion for they're struggle and they're battles with her sobriety and ED, I truly feel they're are very talented and I want to like them however I have a hard time considering this seemingly never ending stream of problematic behavior of there's.
