Bodybuilding doesn't make someone strong. Well, technically it does make them strong but muscles are mostly deceiving. I look like David and I train Karate. I can lift a 200lbs person on their back while me only being around 150lbs. And I can probably hurt them really bad that they won't get up properly even after a month of recovery.
@iyziejane17 күн бұрын
@@friedrichmyers The bodybuilder in this video is strong, with squats and deadlifts over 600 pounds. He has one of the highest combinations of strength and flexibility of anyone that has shown up on social media, albeit he's an open PED user. But yeah most fitness people under 40 understand and agree with your point, bulky muscles and strength are trained separately by different exercises, it is possible to be super strong without getting big. Smaller weight classes in Olympic weightlifting prove that very well.

I'm not sure what exactly you're saying, if you're saying you don't train regularly ever then you're not going to get the benefit they're talking about. It takes months to years of consistent training before your muscles will do what they're talking about, then AFTER that you can lapse and your muscles will rebuild faster. If you just got your muscles to swell with water while they repair but didn't actually stress the repair process, you aren't getting that benefit because you never had the muscles to begin with.

@@SilkyThick I was a few inches away from my splits. Took a few months off and by the time I tried again, I was over a foot from the ground. Within a few weeks, I was back where I was before. this is the complete opposite what most fitness channels shout in here, they all say "if you are not working out for two weeks you might as well quit bcos you lost all your gainnnnss!!" (bit exaggerated but not much 😆) people make it seem like it takes a decade to build and month to lose when the reality is as explained in this video. don't get me wrong, consistency is definitely one of the keys to build serious muscle, but it's also so refreshing and affirming to hear that you can take time off with good conscience and you get what you lost back in no time. this actually makes me want to start to work out again rather than make me feel shitty that i haven't done much anything in few years in terms of exercising. also both radiates the positivity this world oh so desperately needs. I had to give up the training for about a year because a good session or two and suddenly I'd be struggling with energy and pain for the next few days.
