I grew up in the small countryside in China and the environment there was similar to where Ziqi lives, peaceful and simple. What Ziqi did in her videos reminds me of what my mom did when I was a kid. My mom works hard and is able to do all kinds of things. She’s also good at cooking. I live in the city now, and sometimes if feel stressful and depressed by the city life. Watching Ziqi’s videos calm me and bring me back to the simple old time. Thank you so much!

The videos are very cinematic but what she represents is something totally real, the traditional farmers of the southern Yangtze region, Jiang Nan, beautiful permaculture way of life for millennia, people there still remember living like this but modernization has changed most things but the entire society is contemplating this problem of modernity, I think this young lady's works represents the more enlightened perspective on the relationship between tradition and modernity among the Chinese millennials. @@jebbie2595

greencase shes discussed her life story on various platforms. But basically she moved from the city to take care of her grandma after her grandpa died, and took on the responsibility of tending for the farm. Idk why u think its so abnormal for people to make a living in small villages as farmers, thats all a lot of people have, thats all my own grandparents used to have as well. She used to shoot and edit all her videos alone, but now she had a team of three people who help to film, edit, and upload videos on youtube through a vpn

So sad that those people who took the trouble to thumbs down this beautiful work given freely are so shallow they are unable to appreciate the beauty in the work. Their loss and so much more for us :) Thank you for these most relaxing and at times subtly humors videos of a life that could be. When I first saw these videos I assumed they were produced by a very skilled group of people who had a love for tradition and wanted to capture and record the gems of rural life. To find most of the videos were all Liziqi's work I realized she is indeed a very special talented individual with a very well placed heart. Those who thumbs up are all good people with a real heart, cheers.

I can relate with this since I grew up in the province with my father (deceased) who is a farmer. Ziqi's videos reminisce my childhood memories in the farm. It's all healthy eating. Our snack sometimes is only guaple and boiled sweet potatoe or boiled corn or boiled cassava. And you have that sugar cane oozing with sweetness! And watermelons!

For those sour grapes who diss her for "it's not real" or "she has a team", I just want to say that she NEVER denied she had assistant since last year (BTW in the begining she did all the work herself). So what? Why not? Aren't all the work recorded done by HERSELF? Doesn't a team help the videos more elegant and statisfying? Doesn't it save her more time and energy to produce better and more good stuff? And can you dissers do as good as she can given you a team? NO YOU CAN'T.

What is wrong with having a professional cameraman anyway? It makes us enjoy it all the more. And from what I understand, while she doesn't do all the manual editing work herself anymore, the decisions about which footage to use, angles et cetera, are all hers. I am happy she was successful enough to be able to afford the extra expense, so her content becomes even more awesome.

Except it's incredibly expensive to live like that in a western nation, due to land tax, you need a lot of space for that, and that costs a lot of $ in the west, I may grow food myself, but still it's not cheap at all, it's still cheaper for me to drive 60 miles to buy food from a grocer, that reminds me, it's time to plant garlic. You'd be surprised how many people still practise these old methods! I know several families who live in Chinese villages who still use these traditional ways in day-to-day life. Normally they are older people, but the new generation who were born after 2000 are starting to relearn these practices.
