You are a real joke with your idiot comment. The crocus sativus, flower of the saffron will not grow in this metal box. The bulb is put in August, so, the first it will work, then, it will not grow again. They will have to plant again and again, a non sens and a total waste of flowers...

In the late 90s early 2000s I used to go into restaurants (u.s.a) with the best Kashmir saffron. I think I was selling it $30 a gram if not 20-25. Long time ago. I would go in ask for the head chef. Usually his eyes would pop out of his head and he would say how many can I buy. Usually 2-4 per sale. Now no one would look at something off the street from a walk in. Even pure bright red saffron. Although it was surprising I could even do it then. Although a had a great rare product I knew what I had and I was the only one doing it. Not like they could be, ahh we will wait for the next saffron peddler. Put food on my plate when I needed it. Thank you Kasmir crocus farmer. Oh.... it was when National Geograpic had it on the cover of their magazine.

Good luck to his enterprise and I’m sure he has a great supporter who helped bring this idea into fruition in the first place. Well done to the originator of the concept and this valiant entrepreneur because it is a mammoth money maker if it proves as good as today’s main source. Edit: I have been to Qatar and it is soooo hot, so I hope the air conditioning, constant care and logistics can maintain the initial quality of the product for a quality return in investment. Then it’s an obvious winner.

This method is technological hydroponic farm I guess.. there are also vertical farms.. this needs money tho.. that's why most people dont use it

We can grow anything in a contained environment, humans have actually been doing so in different ways for centuries. It can be expensive though. So the best crops for doing so are high dollar crops. Saffron is perfect for this as is Marijuana and a few other high value crops.

Seen in documentary and in food vlog that they also have saffron tea. Iran also produces saffron seen in documentary

It doesn't look very high quality yet but that is normal for the first year with crocus anyway until they become established. He needs grow lights to force blooms and the reporter needs to not have the door open. They wilted his flowers leaving the door like that. I hope he has a good harvest next season once the crocus become naturalized to the substraight he keeps them in. Good job

'I wish Saffron was cheap like it was back in my Day. They used too sale it in the grocery stores Cheap. My Grandma used to bake me a Saffron Cake for my Birthday. She would Put bright yellow 💛 And orange cake coloring in the icing and Decorated my cake with it. Now if I bake myself a Saffron Cake 🎂 It would coast me a fortune....this man is a smart man not a rich man. I'm named Saffron but I'm not ritch. I have so many young girls that I meet saying you have the same name my parents were going to name me. And everyone said don't name her Saffron that's a ritch name. I'll say Saffron is a cheap herb 🌿 🤣 Out of the Bible like Cinnamon is. Both spices were used as home remedies in Jesus's Days here on this earth. Just because you're named Saffron or work with Saffron doesn't mean you're Ritch. Name your children what you want to name them. Because when you don't you end up regretting it, Both my parents name me Saffron and I'm proud 👏 From NC Born and raised here. 'I don't know anyone ritch in NC we're just down to earth people!!
