On this episode I speak with cultural historian and archetypal astrologer Richard Tarnas about his book Cosmos & Psyche, his journey from Harvard to Esalen in the 1970s, and how his psychedelic research with Stanislav Grof and encounter with James Hillman were integral to the development of what he calls archetypal cosmology.
I really enjoyed this conversation, and it was an honour to have such deep and personal conversation with someone who’s depth of experience, scholarship and concern for humanity is truly humbling.

What is not mentioned her is the unique and correct individuality of the individualized soul as compared to the narrow individualism of the ego.

It was not always understood that nature’s laws if broken causes suffering. That suffering was often seen as caused by a God who punishes which is far from the truth as a loving God has the laws of nature so that we can learn what is the good and become more conscious, A loving God does not punish anyone.

Jupiter and Saturn were the bosses of the cosmos and in its evolution, their resonance was the deciding factor in what stayed and what was sent to the periphery.

Christianity has God or Spirit in the human person. Although some Christians only see the Divine in Christ and rather than working to save themselves, according to Christian principles, some believe that faith alone saves them. “Faith without works is dead.”
