Living a simple life isn't about the size of your house, how much money or possessions you have but rather the way in which you choose to live. We chose a simple, minimalistic way.
We are Adam, Jane and Isabella. We are a family friendly vlog about simple life, family and travel.

It's nice to retire in the Philippines, especially in the province because the cost of living is cheaper as compared to say, North America. Medical services are on par with Western Countries. Doctors and Nurses are competent, compassionate, and caring. Your foreign currency would go a long way. If you build a house, you can produce your organic fruits and vegetables, and even livestock.

My friends and workmates think I am crazy for maintaining a detailed financial spreadsheet. However, it is something that I really enjoy and as a result I have absolutely no debt. And possess no credit cards of any kind. And my savings are on point. Owning your home and vehicle outright was a great decision. Fantastic budget video!!!

Likely leyte and samar are at the typhoon belt. It's nice if your house can withstand with successive typhoons that we get yearly. I'm glad you're able to budget your expenses.

Wow! You guys are so frugal. But please don’t forget to enjoy life too, not just saving money because the philippines is full of beautiful provinces to visit, especially Cebu and Bohol.

I like living in the province it's more practical, you can grow your own vegetables, raise animals and also relaxing away from noise, planning to stay back home for good someday.

From Ottawa, Canada. Happy to hear that you love to stay in the Philippines. Looking forward to go home in the near future and enjoy to do some gardening in Negros Occidental.

I thought that I/we would eat more local foods when we settled here. We still eat a lot of local fish, and do eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Because cooking and baking is a hobby of mine, I tend to spend more on imported ingredients for my dishes. It makes for more variety in our diet, but as you say food costs have surely gone up in the past couple of years. Owning your own house does help to cut down on monthly rental costs, but that is not for everyone's lifestyle.

We buy drinking water at my parent's house in the Philippines because we don't want the chlorine taste of water, I think it's wise to buy purified water.
