Being a C8 owner from northern Utah and having had mine for almost 2 years and driving it quite a bit I can 100% tell you that what you are seeing is not typical for cars from here. I am super sad to see what happened to your car Mike. I had hoped to see it around Utah, but after seeing the damage I’m glad I didn’t. Best of luck getting it sorted out!

That's why you need to look at every car before you bid or buy. I sold my C7 last year. Saw it about 1 week ago. It was torched. Very similar to your situation. But it is the new buyer's car. Obviously, he took vastly different care of it vs how I did.

And people wonder why Porsche 911 owners have their cars with minimal mods. Save for the exhaust, modifying modern 'Vette's is asking for trouble. Stock, this car is fantastic on it's own.

I would just leave the lowering kit on there. Plus I don't understand how it is costing $400 to remove the wheel spacers... that should take around a half hour to talk the wheels off, spacers off, and retorque to the proper spec. I do understand the other issues though

Yes, so true. Did it once myself -- just once took the easy way out and trusted the dealer, the previous owner and some incredibly devious but beautiful photos -- and got taken to the bank. Didn't pay much, so not a total loss, but put 6K into it and it still didn't run right! SO ALWAYS get an independent mechanic to go over a car if you cannot be there in person, and even then drive it to an independent mechanic yourself before paying a dime! Ouch!

Like they say, he had more money than brains! It amazes me how people treat their vehicles in such a short amount of time. I've seen some vehicles that were 6 months old that looked like what I might expect to see in a 10 year old vehicle. If it were me, I would really have to go out of my way to make my vehicles look that bad. I just don't get how people can be such slobs.

Hey Mike some of the cost on your list are unnecessary like $400 to remove the spacers. It is extremely easy to do yourself in less than 45 minutes. Also if a car is lowered properly there are other advantages besides just aesthetics. I’d have another look at your list and revaluate a few things as there is money to be saved. Anyways good luck!!☺️❤️

Well in fairness it wasn’t your car when it got ragged out, and when you decided to buy it back it is your responsibility to ask for detailed pictures and maintenance records etc. ask it it was garaged or outdoors. Most of that stuff is very minor, The real question is how much did you sell it for and how much did you buy it back for?

Out of all those “issues”, im just more intrigued about the clear coat issues in the CF parts. Are these OEM bits? There is really much an owner can do to cause that to happen in a year or 2. Leaving the car outside certainly isnt ideal for any car, but a failure in clearcoat this early for doing so for a year or 2 only means the parts themselves arent that great to begin with.
