Actually they are called Speckled Perch but people in the north were use to putting crap on there plate so they found that name more fitting. That’s why in the South where the food always taste amazing call em Specks.

Yeah, there’s about five different ways to pronounce it even the southern Louisiana Way. But I’m old-school in Texan but I see it like with an O like “Croppie,” but that is the correct pronunciation..
