I did the exact same thing out here in Indiana 3 days ago. Only been out once and this combo is pretty awesome. Good 70 bucks spent.

Crappie is one of the best light tasting on the planet, but it must be correctly. I’ve always tried this recipe out. It is actually good on any fish.

How heavy is this kayak without the seat strapped in
@PROAMOUTDOORSАй бұрын
It’s 78 pounds total. The seat is about 3 to 4 pounds. Not very heavy. I lifted it and strapped it to the top of my car before not very bad. Hope this helps.

I produced that video to show that it could be inexpensive to have a better and cheaper transducer mount then they sell on the shelves. If I was to make one and sell it, it would cost just as much if not more than the yak attack version. I have thought about it because I have so many people would like for me to make them. I would have to mass producer it to come out ahead.

Price for materials?
@PROAMOUTDOORSАй бұрын
The price for materials has jumps significantly since I made that video. But it was around $25 for the PVC pipe and fittings. You can look online to see what the stainless steel quarter 20 bolts and hand nuts would be.

Is there a reason you put the monitor facing the way you did? I could see the monitor blocks the handle from opening all the way. I think if you change the monitor facing the other way it would be better and the weight of the battery should keep it from tilting in the monitors direction.

Fixing to go get me one as soon as I get off work , had a 2.5 pounder destroy the drag system in my Diawa reel , like just has no drag at all no matter how tight you get it you can just pull line out like it’s nothing, funny thing is I’m actually getting one for shakey heads and drop shots too 😂😂 I played around with the combo in the store the other day and it legit feel PERFECT for a sub $100 spinning combo

what happens if the steel rod gets stuck under the anchor
@Deven2102 ай бұрын
Also I have a question for you sir. I’m fishing down here in San Antonio. I’m pretty new to it, I want to pan fish. I purchased a acc crappie stix 8ft super grips. It’s a medium light rod. With it I got a 1000 series piscifun viper reel. How do I need to rig it up to start being successful for Crappie?
@PROAMOUTDOORS2 ай бұрын
I would rig it up with 10 pound braided line. And use a monofilament leader either on a jig or slip cork. It’s according to where you fish I do have a couple of videos show me using a unique technique. It’s drop shotting for crappie. It works well against trees, but not brush piles.

I now have a Lowrance Elite FS fishfinder that does not fit under the hull of my kayak. I tried a Railblaza mount but it is too short & there is insufficient clearance between the kayak & the transducer arm. Also, the fit of the transducer to the bottom of the arm is not suitable & I used a workaround. Now I will make my own modelled on yours. That will do the job perfectly. Thanks for sharing a fantastic solution.🇦🇺🦘

Only works if you can get the proper angle
@PROAMOUTDOORS2 ай бұрын
Yep, you’re right. It works when you get the right angle but in a kayak, you can move around and keep working the rope and then it will finally pop loose. It’s happened to me quite a few times using this kayak anchor, but I’ve gotten it back each time

Just found your channel. I also have a lifetime Yukon and i gotta say that this video is a testament to how good of a kayak they really are. Those were some pretty nasty waves, and the Yukon took it and kept you inside long enough to make it to shore. A lesser kayak would've folded in that weather. Cheers from MN
