I love how when proceeding from gen 1 onwards there are fewer and fewer glitches but when you hit gen 9 its like CHAOS ZONE

Considering my childhood SON OF A GLITCH is MIA this is the next best thing!

In Alpha Sapphire I encountered a glitch that I have never heard anyone talk about, but completely freaked me out. I played through the game, having a ton of fun and getting hit with nostalgia left and right (original Sapphire was the game that got me into Pokémon). I beat Steven, auto saved my game at the Hall of Fame, and watched the credits. I get to the point in the credits where it shows the final Wally battle, and the game freezes! The credits keep rolling and the music keeps going, but it doesn’t transition past the Wally scene. After the credits and music stop, the game is frozen. I reset my system and try again, and nothing. I’m completely freaking out. I haven’t had my 3DS for that long and I’m completely new to the concept of games that you can download patches for, so I think my game is permanently corrupted, and I lost my beloved Pokémon. Thankfully, a friend helped me download the patch to fix the bug

About SV, you left out the glitch that made a lot of trainers lose their save file for a time.

Seeing a whole video of the craziest glitches in Pokémon games made me remember of a weird glitch that happened my copy of Brilliant Diamond. I was helping my brother with a trade with Dialga but as the trade happened, his game crashed and ended the trade. When we loaded back into our respected games to continue the trade, it got cloned! So... task failed successfully? I still have the cloned Dialga in my copy of Violet!

I actually got the bad egg glitch in emerald completly by accident, I didn't even do anything I just turned the game on and suddenly my Azumaril was a bad egg, and when I turned the console off and turned it back on again it was back to normal still one of the weirdest pokemon moments I've ever experienced

I was in college with X/Y came out. There were sooo many rumors about that Lumiose City glitch beyond it just soft-locking your game. Things like it bricking the 3DS or corrupting the game cartridge itself. I was one of many to be legit scared to even enter Lumiose, lmao. It was a lot like playground rumors about Missingno or Celebi or whatever; it was honestly a lot of fun.

I remember playing pokemon red as a kid and killing something with my charizard and getting wayyy too much exp. He leveled up over and over and when he hit level 100 he kept gaining exp and reset to level 1 and still kept going. It relearned the early level moves and had its stats reset but I've never found any documentation on it

I remember experimenting with powers beyond my knowledge (AR and Gameshark) when I was a kid. Glitched my games to heck and back, but I remember having several "bad eggs" in FireRed and Emerald. Cool to know!!

Also, the following pokemon do not activate this glitch at all: Weepinbell, Marill, Ledyba, HootHoot, Hoppip, Aipom, Wooper, Misdreavus, Snubull, Shuckle, Sneasel, Ursaring , Teddiursa, Slugma, and Delibird. The only pokemon that crashes the game for some reason is Umbreon

Surprised there was no mention of the monochrome Pokemon in early gen 6. That one had everyone fooled as a new ultra rare shiny esque type.

The worst glitch I came across was Brassius being invisible before I challenged him in the rematch. I freaked out "Where the £%$* is he!"

There is a cloning glitch in Pokemon emerald. You can clone as many pokemon in generation 3 and transfer them all to Pokemon home.

A fun fact about the coin case glitch is that you can create ANY Pokemon with it or even make a Pokemon shiny. I used it to create a WHOLE BOX of shiny Moltres on the virtual console version of Pokemon Silver that I then transfered to Home! Truly the best glitch in Pokemon history.

9:40, it is indeed because of Sparkling Aria as the basis, but it’s because it is the Sparkling Aria is programmed as a healing move becauae of the burn removal part of that. As a result, the AI thinks it and all Z Move variants are healing moves.

I remember hearing the news of the Lumiose City glitch as I was reaching Lumiose City on release day. Scared me so bad I don't save in Lumiose to this day.

I think Bad EGG counts as a glitch lol. Sure, it was intentionally put in as an anti-cheating function, but I seriously doubt that Game Freak intended all the other... weird stuff that Bad EGGs can cause. Remember, Missingno. was also technically "intended" to be in the game, as a placeholder, but it also still caused unintended glitches.

I do remember the Action Replay glitch in DP where the player can be stuck inside a tree. To get out, you can be able to use Fly if you have enough badges.

I never noticed the glitches in Red and Green since people do not mess around in the games limited by the Game Boy's hardware. The glitches are more noticeable in Scarlet and Violet.

The lower pitch theme of the Pinwheel Forest can be heard in the basement of the Dreamyard.

I found an interesting glitch in Violet where if you climb the wall sideways behind Professor Turo's lab, you will fall through the wall and land in a void universe that is reminiscent of the Dark Link room from Ocarina of Time.

There was a cool glitch item in gen 1 called 8f, it let you change your pokemon’s typing, even dual typings. If you did everything right, you could even trade one of the gen 2 pokemon coded into gen 1 to the gen 2 games without problem.

About Glitch City, there is a way to permanently softlock yourself in there. Trigger the Glitch City Glitch while having no Fly nor Teleport available to you upon entering Glitch City, and save the game. Congrats, you're now stuck in Glitch City forever, forcing you to start a new game to escape

1:50 Just for info, this is incorrect. While MOST cities in Kanto will be fine, if the city your in does not have 4 warp point (Pallet town is a good example) then you walk onto glitch city. The reason this is, is because of walking out the door puts you at warp 4 of whatever map your on, in Fuchsia, that's the normal safari zone exit. In other places, it will just put you to warp number 4 on whatever map your on, but if the map doesn't have 4 warp points, then it throws a glitch city in your face

To clarify, the Coin Case glitch ONLY works in English Gold and Silver, due to an error involving an incorrectly placed terminator character (the thing that tells the game to stop printing text for that specific line) which leads to stuff getting overflowed. It was fixed in Crystal's English version and never existed at all in the OG JP version. On top of this, Glitch Dimensions also can't be accessed in Crystal due to Crystal being a GBC-only game, rebooting in standard GB mode will give an error screen.

The original Surf glitch was removed in later JP versions, if I recall. I know because my JP Diamond (likely one of the first batches) had it, but my later JP Pearl didn't.

I'm guessing Gen9's biggest glitch is just the whole game itself

There used to be a glitch in Legends Arceus that made Cherrim uncatchable. If Cherrim transformed during a battle, you couldn't catch it. I remember trying to catch Cherrim and throwing over 50 pokeballs and getting so annoyed I googled Cherrim's catch rate and saw the glitch being talked about. It looks like they patched it with version 1.0.2. There's also the cute charm glitch in gen 4 which makes shiny pokemon insanely easy to find. But that glitch is a little difficult to activate since you need RNG manipulation to manipulate your trainer ID and secret ID. It would be extremely rare for someone to accidentally stumble upon this glitch without knowing about it, but I like to think at least one person out there has

Hey JPR, I should tell you that I never actually found the Frozen Zoroark Glitch in the English White 2. I edited Bulbapedia years ago and added that I found it to justify why I use Action Replays. It was a stupid excuse I made up when I was 12 and it shouldn't have persisted in my adulthood. I already told Dobbs about this in my comment, and I actually posted an apology on my KZfaq channel, but I cannot revert that because I was banned from editing Bulbapedia two years ago. Please consider amending this video, I shouldn't have told that stupid lie.

Bad Eggs also double as error handlers for invalid index numbers, or index numbers which haven’t been assigned a Pokémon. In gens 1 and 2 these were just glitch Pokémon which were generated from garbage data. Often these glitch Pokémon could corrupt your game in various ways. Sometimes they would corrupt a section of data, sometimes a few. And sometimes the glitch Pokémon could overwrite your save causing you to lose it. I believe this is why bad eggs can be dangerous to hatch.

Accessing the void in gen 4 is possible in every version via tweaking (using the bike to rapidly switch between chunks on the map before the game can properly load a section thus opening the void in the unloaded area)

Both the colour pallet glitch in Pokemon Gold and the berry glitch in Sapphire happened to me when I was a kid. I have no clue how I managed them, since I barely knew English back then (Hello from Greece 😀), I thought my game turned blue because I chose Totodile! Pokemon Violet though, is on another level. I got stuck or fell through the many levels of the 3D graphics countless times, but one of them was the cherry on top. I walked into a cave and my character fell right under the floor of the cave and there were rocks and deep water all around, so I couldn't move. I waited until the spawning pokemon walked over my head to start a battle, so all my pokemon would faint, and it took forever!

I had a glitch happen to me a few months ago replaying sapphire, no cheats no nothing playing on my original sapphire cartridge in the cutscene where you go back to Slateport to see team aqua stealing the submarine Archie's sprite had changed to a random female NPC no kidding, i was shocked took video and everything weirdest thing was I knew it was a glitch so I turned it off and on again and happened for a 2nd time idk if anyone else has had this glitch or why it happened twice in a row or why it happened at all. When I saw him again in seafloor cavern his sprite was normal again.

I have a modded 3DS with access to almost any older gen Pokémon games (including ones from other regions), so I could actually try most of these glitches if I wanted to. How fun! :)

Hey, I think the method in BDSP for going out of bounds was another carryover from DPPT.... I think it was called "tweaking" or something where you got on your bike and made a ton of quick, precise, movements at specific spots, to make the environment fail to load and enter the Mystery Zone.

I got a glitch in my copy in Violet the raid went on when the time run out

there was also in gen 9 being able to clone items with Koraidon/Miraidon before it got patched out. really the most important thing to patch, gamefreak🙄

Please reinsert the game” indefinitely unless Nintendo fixes it by wiping your data by mailing your game in It’s real, just need to translate websites
