Yeah, I am considering StepWGN for my first car in Japan as I like road trips, hiking and camping. It comes with 1.5T, AWD and ... CVT ;( There is front-wheel-drive hybrid but this will do make me happy in the mountains in the winter.

@@HondaProJason That's awesome! Thanks for the info dude. I'm super interested in Japan, I've been in the business for a long time and it bothered me that we don't get to see much of the dealership side over there. That makes a lot of sense now! I can tell by the service side of things that they do things super different. You think they're just wanting to keep their trade secrets close to the chest? Or it's more a respect thing for their employees and customers?

The first 'wagon' is considered to be an executive transporter. The 'TV' is missing because you got to choose which headunit to install. Way better then those cheap standard radio we have in the US.
@valdius85
@valdius85 5 жыл бұрын
StepWGN is not an executive one. The massive Toyota Alphard is ;) Both Freed and StepWGN are very popular vehicles. I like both of them due to utility they offer for road trips in Japan. Narrow body makes life easy. StepWGN is not that big (4.5m long), it is just narrow and tall so it has awkward proportions. I like it a lot and for now it fits my needs the most.

I wonder why Honda dealers in Japan are way smaller than Indonesia and in fact is much cleaner than my dealers/official workshop looks like.In my country, they use old-school conventional hydraulic lift whereas in japan they lift up from the floor. Plus, in my country,i can watch the mechanics through windows depends on the layout of the workshop whereas Japan uses television to see if your car is being work by mechanics because less space and saves costs to make lounges.

Most buildings in Japan are small. The density is high, so they need to use their space efficiently. Also, which is not mentioned often, simple silly service is expensive at official dealerships. All that extreme service comes at a high price.
