Good luck, brother!! Put in that hard work! Look at it as the most important aspect of your admission and that will give you all the motivation you need to study the extra hours!

I’m thinking about getting a dog when I start as a D1, is this a good idea or a horrible idea? Should I wait till D2/D3 or just not at all?

Watch this first! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f7Odn7qkqN_Ucmg.html My other advice would be to stay away from D3. Way too much going on when you get into the clinic! But other than that it is absolutely worth it you will just need help to take care of the pup!

Do you think a specialty is worth it or no ? Like being an orthodontist or oral surgeon

Yeah if you can get good enough grades in dental school only the top 15-20% even have a chance of getting in

I think it certainly can be for many people! I would actually advise those that have an uncertain future in general dentistry who are also able to get the grades to shoot for a specialty. I will talk more about this in the future!

Thanks for the comment! I honestly don't know how to best advise you! I would tell you though that if you can find a dentist from Turkey who is currently working here in the States, you should absolutely reach out to them!

Here in germany, we have a lot less quallifed personal than needed. Espacaliy in the region of "Ruhr bölgesi", you will find a lot of well integrated migrants from turkey. You may want to get informed about migration in general and research laboratorys with turkish staff.
