The best season of anime history didn’t won any awards Is just absurd to me Vinland saga should win at least one award

best season of anime history? are you being fr? these were not critics awards, these were fan favorite awards. vinland saga, despite being a masterpiece and being objectively better than the likes of JJK in some aspects, doesn't appeal to the masses. the first season kinda did as it was more action focused. second season, despite showcasing thorfinn's incredible character growth, wasn't that well paced, the first few episodes were not that engaging for the viewers, but it gradually improved. it should've definitely won some awards, like 'best drama', or even 'best score', but that's about it. JJK this year has unbelievable hype. Although only Hidden Inventory arc was considered (first 5 eps), most votes may be casted taking Shibuya Arc into consideration. Then it becomes the obvious winner imo.

@@Abhi-cv4rn Yes, it's obvious that JJK won, because it's a popularity contest. But that's the whole problem - the best shows don't win even in their respectfull categories. And I can stand behind a statement that Vinland Saga had the best season of anime history this year.

@@jacobt1279 who are you to judge which show deserved which award? the awards were voted by majority, so majority of people didn't feel VS should've won right? it should've definitely won Best Drama, Score, AOTY not really. And I don't think it's anywhere close to the best season of anime history. but that's just my opinion, just like how it's your opinion that it is.

Vinland Saga definitely should have won aoty and best mc but imo Vinland Saga's cinematography is being severely overrated here. Heavenly delusion, jjk and chainsaw man went a step further in elevating a lot of the source material and are much more dynamic.

The fact that Hell's Paradise made it to the nominees of anything other than "best anime song" is ridiculous......best art direction? Seriously?? That shit show of a production? I cant even fathom how that even happens unless someone paid Crunchyroll off, or if the people havent even watched the anime. Heavenly Delusion should be nominated for that. Best anime protagonist.......im a big One Piece fan and even i would agree that Thorfinm should've won that one, but i guess One Piece's insane popularity in the last few months had a hand in that. I think Heavenly Delusion should've won best cinematography over Chainsaw Man. This year's truly was a shitshow

Love the highlights mate. Yeah, there were a lot of the awards that should've won, but at the end of the day, its just another popularity contest. At least Bocchi won 1 award... After best comedy, I had almost lost hope.

A major event happend last year in One Piece so it was natural they got two awards. But again best main character was surely Thorffin for me

some choice are ridiculous such as art direction, why hell paradise art direction win? Im fine with that tho. But my personal opinion, im fine with jjk choices expect the last one, viland saga should've win, i didn't watched the anime viland saga but i saw some clips, is very mature and wise anime. So i think viland saga should've won over jjk s2. But also they out of all the fights, they chose the least impressive one from jjk. They cut the arc, just the hidden inventory and it didn't evolved the fully season which is sad so next yrs jjk s2 will appear again. Over all the some choices are so soft like how i said, why the hells paradise art direction win?to comfort him? Ik the schedule and stuffs and i feel bad but cmon we are in a important event. Bocchi the rock should've win the comedy over spy family, kinda disappointing. Bocchi the rock is very popular in Japan so im surprised that it didn't won. Demon slayer win over jjk? Are we kidding? Jjk has better story telling and fight than demon slayer, demon slayer fight are just 3d effects blended and hundreds of effect in screen and there's no good choreography, has lack of movement, they use effects and 3d camera movement to hide it. Unfotable is a effect expert studio but not on choreography, animation background or any kind of stuffs that doesn't have to do with effects. Where's the best studio award? Many stuffs doesn't have sense or didn't appear in the even. This my opinion so feel free to be against me but remember it's my opinion

@@mattragel that’s the point It just means BEST SCORE It doesn’t matter if it used from past seasons or not the rumbling freedom ost was complete new Ataek on ashes is also a complete new ost (was used when pieck escaped from the Past generation of titans but was stopped by Lara tybers Warhammer) Also They didn’t even used like full version of the ost ‘s before Like dogs ost when Levi sees his squad and does the salute is from past seasons but wasn’t used even for one time Splinter wolf ost vocals version was used for the first time Same for balkutzo (hange’s death ost) full version wasn’t used before In s1 it was used only once and that also for like a small scene

@@AM17titan I think it absolutely matters if its used from past seasons or not. If a score gets nominated, then I think is is absolutely fair to judge it, in full, based on the album that was released for that specific show or film. Splinter Wolf for example was released for S4P1, and so its full version should also be judged and be considered as part of the overall soundtrack that was made specifically for that season. All of these songs weren't made for The Final Chapters, and I don't think it should be compared against actual newly composed music. The exception to this, is when the composer creates a new rendition of a past track or theme; Ashes on the Fire had a new rendition as you said, that counts. But the others? Not really. At least, this is how every other major awards handle the best score category.

@@mattragel fair enough but I don’t think with Aot that’s the case In the best score crunchyroll awards information It was written as ‘the score which elevated the scene’ It wasn’t written that particular year music shouldn’t be counted

@@AM17titan Yeah, which is also the reason why I feel like some of these categories are weird. Crunchyroll have their own rules that isn't necessarily the same as other awards, and even their rules of eligibility are all over the place. No fall season nominations, what counts as fantasy, what part of JJK is actually nominated based on posters... Basically why I don't take this as seriously, but if the events get bigger, then you'll get me acting like this lol

I am so mad they gave JJK the best character design, absolutely undeserved and nonsensical. The designs are taken from manga, nothing special. Trigun Stampede should've won, studio Orange designed those characters themselves and everything about the designs has a meaning, serves a purpose. They went through such a long process of designing them too... Huge pity.
