Today I talk about the CSS and Jay Lee Collaboration that led to this speaker right here called THE TYPHON. These are tall full range speakers that really will deliver the bass and the boogie factor. These are not specialized audiophile speakers, rather these sound great with ANY genre of music and that is a good thing.
I hope you enjoy this review of these HiFi Audio Speakers for you music listing enjoyment.

I built the CSS Torri as my first real set of stereo speakers. In my opinion, they are amazing. It’s neat to see them doing projects like this. I hope to hear these in person some day!

I love mine. Had 'em a week and love them more than the CSS 2td-x I built. More articulate, clear soundstage. My untreated room deals with them better from the wall on out. Agreed, no sub needed but not muddy. Nuanced. Never harsh, listen for hours. I've NOT owned many speakers but these are the best yet. Bass is true to the recording, "Wow! I didn't realize this track digs this low.... "

Nice that you noticed that these sound like Sonos Fabers since one of Jay's all time speaker is a SF Electa Amator

I have the CSS 1TDX, with upgraded crossovers, and they are outstanding. Without a doubt, the bass performance, including bass tone and subtly, is beyond expectations. The mids are a bit recessed, mostly with female vocals (but just a bit) whereas male vocals are very strong. The treble is clear and spacious but a bit 'accommodating' of sharper electronics. Overall, an outstanding performer and value. No doubt the Typhon's are a bigger, better presentation of the CSS speaker design approach and character.

Heard them at AXPONA. I think you got this pretty spot on based on what I remember. One of the most fun rooms at the show.

These are at the top of my list for new speakers as I want a pair for electronic music and home theatre more than just jazz like a used to. I dont have a lot of room to the back wall though, how do you feel the bass will be with only a couple feet from the wall?

Turning the top speaker upside down prop something underneath the back probably need some blue tack as well stop it from slipping, you should get that treble more balanced and more defined mids let us know how you get on

Kii Threes on the BXT stands is EDM heaven. Completely different price point, but it's the aspirational goal for that particular genre imo.

Somebody who likes the brightness of Focal Speakers will mis something in every other speakers. What is an audiophile speaker? A speaker that let you forget to listen to your hifi-system, but invites you to listen to the music. Most so called audiophile Speakers are not able to do this. Best example for a real audiophile speaker: Wharfedale Linton heritage. You do not need more to enjoy listening to all genres of music and to forget your gears for less than 2000 $…

Seems like you are nice and knowledgeable man but seems like you like everything and not bashing any product that was sent to you. How’s that? One more thing… please, please loose Nordost red down cables! This is worse garbage cable I ever heard. Even blue heaven sounds better….

Btw... I think he's been at this game for decades. He probably knows what he likes, so if Nordost Red had a place in his rotation, they must have done the thing just fine. I've never listened to that specific line but Nordost is notoriously counterfeited in China. You might be surprised how common it is for these inferior knock-offs to end up at a popular internet retailer. Just a hunch, but if the cables you listened to were that bad, maybe that's why.

Go to the Settings at bottom right and reset the resolution to 1440p. KZfaq auto-sets it to lower res based on the viewer's network speed as detected.
