Will the 1951 Cub finally fire up?! We cleaned out the carburetor and hooked up some fresh fuel. Lets find out! And we also dive into the wiring, an show how we go about making up wires in our shop. Leave us a comment with how you go about your wiring, or any tips on these old tractors!

It'll need some bottom end work soon, but still running good! Just fired her up for the first time this year

Reuben, so happy for ya !!! I knew you would get it all figured out. You are a bright young man !! That tractor just purred like a kitten. What a beautiful running tractor. They sure knew how to make things last back in the day. Just an absolute beauty and it was music to my ears . That is going to make my week. I'm over the moon happy for your results 👌👍

Thank you! I’m glad we didn’t get ripped off 😆. They definitely made things to last back then, now a days it’s just throw away stuff. I really hope it does all we want it and more this year, then it may get a restoration come winter….🤫🤫

You can get some parts on Amazon ca for your international cub . Take your battery cable off by night , because sometimes point stick close cause a electric fire in the wires . Good it’s starting great for sitting for 14 yrs . 😊

I was surprise on Amazon having parts lol! And that’s good advice, I may put in a cut off switch to make that easier.

CARQUEST AUTO PARTS here the part BCW 403W wire set for spark plugs for it buddy . easy to make them up buddy .

Thank you! And you bet, it should be perfect for the flower gardens, and hopefully it will replace the walk behind bcs we use. If it works well enough, we will restore it completely.

GREAT JOB AND VIDEO !!!!!! I just got a not running Cub 52 model... Been trying now for two months little at a time and no luck yet getting it to run. Any ideas, I have done everything you have but I did not polarize generator????? Did that keep it from starting.??? Thanks-Keep such great videos coming they are outstanding and so helpful.....

You did not answer my question. If not polarizing generator keep it from starting and if it does start up will it damage anything.???

No it won’t prevent it from starting, it just will discharge your battery instead of charge. You won’t damage anything other than loose battery charge.

I have a question. Are all the wires the same size . I have a 140 and a 130 and a cub . I know the 140 and the 130 needs rewiring bad . And what did u use to remove the rust in the gas tank . I’m new at all this . Not a mechanic either , so trying to learn how to do this with out messing up my tractors. I was blessed last year to be able to get all three of them . Now I see some issues that need fixing. My main mechanic past away so I’m on my own .

I believe it's mainly all 12 gauge, and some 14. 2 gauge for starter wire. I soaked it in muratic acid. Follow the instructions on the bottle. Worked great, just be careful.

@@earthandbloom That's good. The reason is because when a engine sits the rings rust and don't seat properly causing low compression but they just need to seat again by running the engine. P.s Great video.

Not hard to change it over 12 volt buddy . Me and dad change it over 30 yrs ago . Car quest should get you spark plug wire kit and point rotor button. Good you got go like a kitten. The main ground is main thing . There a car tire fit on front . Probably get tuff tread tire for the front .

My brother told be the same, but this has the electronic 6 volt rotor already, so it’s a bit pricey to switch it to 12v now, those electronic rotor kits are 250-300 here 😅. Or I definitely would swap it

Just keep it as points , we did . Starter run 6 volts or 12 volts no problem. There got old mechanical around you he will know how . My first cousin live out AJAX Ontario he mechanics work link belts big into the big gear and very very into hydraulic work .
