Day Two on the Cumbria Way. Beacon Tarn to Langdale.
We were up reasonably early and walking along Coniston Water pretty much all alone which was lovely. The path along the lake is somewhat tougher than anticipated, at least in the southern half of the lake, particularly with sections being damaged by storm felled trees etc. Eventually however the paths did ease up and even quicker progress was made.
Into Coniston we rolled and spent far too much in the Spar at the garage there but plenty of pop and some cookies were well received.
We ended the day in Langdale. We were going to camp up the valley towards the foot of stake pass however, we were dying for a beer and came across the National Trust campsite there and being a 2 minute walk from the Old Dungeon Ghyll, with showers, we decided it was a no brainer.
