My brother introduced me to this song when I was 12. It changed my life and made me want to start a band with him: we’ve been playing together in the same band for 17 years straight since then.

Released in 1979 in the UK, 1980 in the USA. My favs since I was 15, in 1986. I've seen them 5 times. I love seeing these reaction videos...it's good to see people checking them out after all of these years. People bring their kids to the concerts now and it's great! That was my favorite song throughout my teen years!!! The Cure was the first band i fell in love with and i still am. They manage to become one of the biggest names with a career lasting for over 40 years now. Not bad for 3 Imaginary Boys (plus some more over the years) from a small English town.

Charlotte sometimes, Into the trees, Love cats, Fascination street are all great songs by them. Also they did a song called "Burn" for the "Crow" soundtrack that is badass!

My favorite band since I was 12... so 31 years now. This is early on when their post-punk place/influence was clear. They’ve hit tons of genres as I’ve zero doubt you’ve been told before and now. But always maintains a “yep, this is The Cure” recognizable theme, largely because the primary writer and the singer has always been Smith since they started to be officially noticed commercially.Dramatuc movie-theme style ambient to pop to post-bunch to rock... all had something catchy in their somewhere? A pure sweetness, he and his wife being sweethearts since 14 , married around 20 years later, still together today decades later... they showed a shot of her watching The Cure being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the excitement and love on her face was adorable like a young kid. He was also asked years back about if (insert the song) was about Mary (wife).... and despite the wide range of styles and both positive and negative lyrics, many with zero to do with relationships, his answer was, “really, every song is about Mary somehow”. Awwwww.

my favorite song. this is also my favorite band. growing up, as a boy, I was not allowed to cry. my dad made it clear that crying was weak and pathetic. I almost never cried as a child or a teenager. Really the only time I would cry as a kid is when I would have a nightmares about my parents dying. I wouldn't even cry at funerals. Now, as an adult I have cried a lot, mostly with my wife and daughter. Most of my tears are tears of joy and being overcome with so much love emotion that I cannot contain it all inside, so the tears flow. To be honest, when I cry, I feel like a little female dog, but my wife lets me know it is ok, and her opinion is the only one, besides mine, that I actually care about in this world. So, then I am ok.

The Cure is the band that stays with you for the rest of your life... 😎 I'm 47 and I still look up from whatever I am doing of I hear a single riff of their songs. They can change your life like Pink Floyd, The Doors, etc.

These video images of The Cure here is later era, but this song was recorded in 1979, if I'm not mistaken. They were legitimately punk and post-punk before post-punk, but ultimately they were their own sound.

Luv'd The Cure when I wa 14,, tbo I've cried nearly every day for past few years, it's a stress relief from work mostly not seeing my kids cause of covid I daren't cause I'm an essential worker it scares me to think I may infect them if I got covid & watching film's or music set's me off thinking ,, sounds crazy but sometimes ya got to let go!! As ya do!! x
