I always followed the “slasher” slim reaper all defense 1st and then he will put u in a poster and get his 15+ points a game.. hell yea he should of got a championship and multiple.. and great friends with KOBE.. I hope Eddie could speak of things and also he was holding his own vs anyone.. that was a great lineup if had NICK, KOBE ,JONES, CAMPBELL , SHAQ.. 🫡👍🙏🔥

I think that the better question was if Eddie really wanted to stay? Obviously, he loved being a Laker but I'm certain that the Lakers wanted Kobe permanently at the two-guard position. They also wanted to get bigger and more physical on the perimeter thus they did just that. Jones was a good shooter, yet he wasn't a floor spacer like Glenn Rice nor was he as physical of a defender, or post player as a Rick Fox. Elden Campbell simply would not play to his potential in his backup role. I think the Lakers got exactly what they needed from that trade.

he was a good 3 point shooter. why not just put him in the gym to put more muscle on then? he was a great defender i mean great!

He was great from 3and a tenacious defender. They could have had him hit the weights

I do agree with what you said about Elden Campbell

Eddie was actually a great guard, long, athletic, skilled, high IQ and mature on the court. He simply didn't fit into what the Lakers wanted to be, and he was not going to become a bench player for a guy out of high school at his position.
