Torres was 100% not a flop. He was the reason Chelsea won their first champions league AND the uropa cup. Personally a flop doesn’t win a champions league. (That’s just me tho)

100% agree. He wasn’t a prolific scorer but he scored every time we needed a goal. He also didnt NEED to be a prolific scorer. We had a stacked lineup during that period with a lot of great scorers.

Chelsea never played a silky/tekky number 10. That’s why these number 9s won’t get the kind of services they would have got in other teams. They don’t have a silky/tekky number 10, so they feed their strikers with long ball instead of good passes from build up play. That’s why physical strikers tends to not flop at Chelsea.

Mention it as no.9 role. Not just shirt number. Chelsea had many successful players in no.9 role. Hasselbank - Flo - Gudjonsen - drogba - anelka - costa - zola - vialli. Agreed they don't have one now. Decent no9s : Remy- michy - ba- kalou - abraham -eto - werner -giroud - Higuain Infant only first season was bad for torres he contributed alot later.
