6 ай бұрынA 8 day trip launching in the northern part of Algonquin. Heading out to Cedar Lake thru Cauchon Lake. Going up the Nippissing in search of brook trout and old growth white pines. Up thru Nadine, the proper way across Heartattack Hill portage. Exploring the tight meandering maple creek. Exploring ruins and old logging camps along the way. Celebrating this great country we call Canada.

Hoping to do access point 2 to nip - I leave 20mins from Kiosk so definelty will be checking that area soon too Thanks for sharing another great trip!!

you live 20 minutes from Kiosk? Wow how convenient. Tim lake eh. That should be nice. I hear you are going to skip the alders and paddle up the creek to connect to the nip. Interesting choice? If your going in the spring... you gotta do the alders. Atleast that is what i've been telling myself. I want to do that trip one day. Tim to Bob to possibly whiskey Jack. I mean I'd love to do the whole thing in one shot I just don't know if life will ever allow that. Would need two cars I think. How far you going down the nip? To Brent?

Nice trip. I remember doing this trip with the current and thinking how hard it would be going up stream. Too bad your rod broke. I stopped bringing nice rods on canoe trips. I can’t handle the heartbreak.

Ah, Spring time bugs. Something to look forward to this Spring. Looked like a nice trip other than the fishing rod breaking. Seems to be my luck as well on trips. My brother got me a telescopic rod for Christmas and I added a reel to it so now I'll always have a backup rod and reel after I broke my reel last year on day one on my Lady-EvelynRiver trip before even leaving my truck. 😢 Lesson learned. Always bring an extra rod and reel.

I usually take an ugly stick with me and I have yet to break one, but I have dropped it in to the Lady Evelyn river after it got hit by a tree while dodging some swifts. Curse of lady evelyn river maybe?
