Finally! We have finished the interior renovation of our 2008 Jayco Select 12HW! It’s only been six months since our last remodel video, but the new curtains and valences are now complete.
For this remodel, we decided to make curtains utilizing pre-fabricated shower curtains, if you can believe it. We required eight shower curtains to replace the eight existing curtains in our 2008 Jayco. We were able to re-utilize the old curtain clips, which slide right into the track at the roof the the pop up. The curtain tie-backs were created from scratch utilizing the same material as the up-right cushions as well as the valences. The only extra material we needed was 5/8” sew-on velcro and a handful of washers we already had on hand to give the curtains some weight. This is - of course - in addition to the numerous spools of thread that this project required!
The valences proved to be tricky as they required the use of a “Ruffler” foot to create pleats in the fabric. However, with some trial and error we determined the required valence fabric length needed to be about 120% of the length of the velcro removed from the old valence, which we were able to re-utilize just like the curtain clips. Thankfully the store, JoAnns, had more of the valence material even though we first purchased it over a year ago!
