The Northern Tamandua is my favorite animal here, at the Costa Rican Sanctuary. It is the smaller cousin of the Giant Ant Eater, but he has equally remarkable features!
I also encountered a black tamandua in Puyo, Ecuador. Black Tamandua's are extremely rare. Their unusual color is caused caused by a pigment mutation.
Curious how I got to volunteer with lots of amazing animals in Costa Rica? Just send me a message on Instagram (@matthias.pav) or Facebook (Matthias Páv). I'll do my best to answer your specific questions about wildlife volunteering and share tips on visiting this sanctuary.
Knowing I've inspired action truly makes my day!
