It amazes me that there are people who don't think Malala deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Just... listen to her, listen to what she's saying. This is a sixteen-year-old girl who has already survived an assassination attempt -- and instead of keeping a low profile out of fear of another attempt on her life, she is STILL using her voice to advocate for girls' and women's education and to fight the oppressive forces that tried to silence her. What's more, she's not advocating an iron-fist approach. She still wants to treat her oppressors like people. Please tell me who deserves it more than she does.

the most amazing thing about john stewart isn't his comsdeic genius, nor his good looks, or his fame, it is his ability to give pause to the jokes and gags in the most appropriate, and astoundingly respectful way, when theres a guest on his show such as Malala.

I think that if children in less developed countries were to get an education, they would end up being the best one's to solve many of the worlds problems because they experienced these problems first hand.

It's sad how kids in the west complain for HAVING to go to school while kids in the east fight and die for a right to go to school. This girl is, and should be, an inspiration to all, not just teenagers. I hope that in the near future I get to see more examples like her and hope that one day humanity will restore my faith in people all together. She, in my opinion, deserves the "Nobel's Peace Prize" because she is one of the few people I have come upon in the recent years who can't be considered to have one ulterior motive. She is pure goodness and deserves to go into the history books next to Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Dalai Lama, Martin Luther King, John Lennon and others. I finished her book yesterday evening, and I have never read a more inspiring book, to think that she spoke out since she was 10 and fought all of this struggle, being shot, going into coma and undergoing several surgical procedures. It taught me that if there is wrong being done to u, u mustn't hesitate to speak out and defend yourself, don't take anything for granted and never underestimate your potential to change the world. Fast forward 3 years and now America has someone, who is almost certain to become our president, says "I am the law and order candidate"...and "I alone can fix it." And his supporters are swearing that this guy will bring order, deal with problems quickly and restore the country's strength.

More moderate Muslim's HAVE to stand up and speak out about ISIS and extremism, the longer Muslim dont protest against this the longer people will continue to see you all as one.

I respect her and I admire her and I am inspired by her. BUT. The attention she's getting from the Western media and Western organizations is slightly problematic. I recently moved to the United States from Pakistan, and because of her story, there's a very negative view of Pakistan as a whole going around in the US. Whenever I tell someone I'm from Pakistan, I get one of two reactions: 1) "Oh, where that girl Malala was shot?" or 2) "Oh, how do you know English if girls there are shot for going to school?" Hmm. I don't blame these people at all, because that's the image the media projects of Pakistan. Let's see. Malala was shot in Swat, a rural area in Pakistan where poverty is rampant and poverty is a breeding ground for terrorism. But in bigger Pakistani cities, an increasing amount of girls are getting an education. The view people have of Pakistan is that girls don't get an education at all. That's not true. Look it up. There isn't such a huge gap between the male literacy rate and the female literacy rate. I am literate. My mother was literate. My grandmother was literate. My cousins are literate. My cousins' children are getting an education. ALL of the women in my high school have gone on to pursue higher education (whether in Pakistan or abroad). Another thing. The official language of Pakistan is English. Not the national language, but the official language. Most schools teach English, and some major schools have begun to teach English as a first language. So Malala, even though I think you're a brave woman, I think your story does more damage to Pakistan than it does good. :( And how about the 132 children killed in APS in December for being the children of soldiers fighting against the Taliban in North Waziristan? Don't they deserve recognition? Or does the fact that they were CHILDREN OF SOLDIERS FIGHTING THE TALIBAN not support Western propaganda of demonizing Pakistan as a whole?

Well done Mr Stewart for brining this child to your show and showing the general public what is happening to poor people. I live in UK and went there for my honeymoon and know how humbled I was by the people for their kindness and hospitality.One day we stopped to see a family tending to their vegetables in the filed near the road and we decided that we will buy fresh vegetables from them. I asked them if we could pick and buy them, they said yes pick them, after I said how much? They turned around to me and said I can have them ! I couldn't do that I said its your living and I can afford them. After much insisting , our driver came over and said they will feel insulted , maybe you should just give something to the kids that were playing near by. So I did , the farmer was happy and I was happy. One evening I went for a walk near the hotel I was sating at and a local man greeted me and I returned the greeting and we started talking about how beautiful the surroundings were, as I bid him goodbye , he turned around and invited us to his home for an evening meal.I was just flabbergasted and humbled again that a complete stranger was asking us to to his home. I will never forget my experiences of Swat valley and its people. They may not have much in a materialtic way but their hearts are so true and loving. I hope that the piece loving people will get piece soon, as I would love to back there again one day.

To be honest, I disagree with her in the point that only education makes you better person, and the best example is her. She lives in Pakistan and yet she is more intelligent than most Americans in her age even though they have developed educational system... It's all about the parents and the home... I believe that her father is the reason that she became like that.... Raising children right and teaching them values while they are young at home rather that following celebrities and video games and fast food .... Here's my opinion. Men are stronger physically. Women are stronger mentally. Women think more than men in certain situations, and because women are more sensory (or rather, they use their emotive side), women think things through befoee jumping in, whereas a man may just move in more quickly. That's not to say this is ALWAYS the case - but in general, women have a very powerful emotional/psychological strength while men are very physically strong.
