Dan flies to Dharamsala, India to spend two weeks in the orbit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This is the first installment of a five-part audio documentary series, something we’ve never done before now. Over the course of the episodes, we talk to His Holiness about practical strategies for thorny dilemmas, including: how to get along with difficult people; whether compassion can cut it in an often brutal world; why there is a self-interested case for not being a jerk; and how to create social connection in an era of disconnection. We also get rare insights from the Dalai Lama into everything from the mechanics of reincarnation to His Holiness’s own personal mediation practice.

My father and his family would kiss us on the mouth. My 29-year-old daughter is appalled by this way of showing love. She said she's glad we didn't bring her up with that cultural behavior because it is totally disgusting to her. I had to think about this a lot. We have to think about culture and context when meeting new people throughout our lives. Thank you for listening.

We need a podcast with Sam Harris about how to look at respected personalities like the Dalai Lama. Telling a boy to kiss him on the mouth is not just disgusting and pedophilia behavior. It’s also the proof that the old man lost his mind and with it all his qualities he may had trough the practice of meditation.

Dude, Dalai Lama is like grandparents to that boy, and he also has grandchildrens from his siblings. So you really think, such a perpetrator would do such things on public stage in front of boys parents. He was just being playful and doing a pop kiss like a grandparents in front of boy parents on public stage with social media. Instead of being reactive, be responsive. First watch video, and ask questions, if it were really a some exploitation, would such person do this in broad day light on public stage and also in front of boy parents. Dalai Lama residence is 24×7 is looked after by Indian police intelligence. Use some common sense. Take your own example, if your parents giving a pop kiss to your children in front of you in a broad day light, or you giving a pop kiss to your siblings grandchildren in front of their parents in a broad day light, if a third person tell you a " Pedophile", what you say, are you?
