That's what I hate about Jinshi...He just do whatever he want without considering Maomao or someone else's feelings.... Thank goodness Gyokuyou there.

That's not true. He is actually very considerate of MaoMao given the difference in their status. He's just got the flirty (and cringey) attitude because he has always used his beauty to get what he wants and is young and inexperienced so he thinks it's flirting. The status difference between Jinshi and a commoner like MaoMao is so incredibly high that it is unbelievable. He could do anything to her and no-one would say a thing, but he never really pushes it.

With how painfully slow the romance progresses I can't really blame him for being a bit agressive with it. We would still be nowhere if he didn't push it a bit.

That said, he is here for the game. As soon as Maomao stop reacting (when she connect the dots) he stop trying to "feed" her and ask what is happening, which show his goal isn't the result but the interaction.
